New Nav map available in Skoda update portal

It was my MY14 with everything newer, including VINs from MY15 and MY16. unless the update portal says there is an update, you can't do it.

Hi gadget007a (and other lost Octavia drivers!!) , I'm in Adelaide too and have just started the process of trying to get my maps updated (MY15 vRS). I had read this thread prior to my recent service so asked them to look into updating it while I was there, having seen Fitzall's success.

Today they are downloading (MRM2017 I think) using a VIN from a superb to try.

Yet to be determined...they were downloading it today and didn't have a 32GB SD card on site either.

Finally received the SD card from the dealer. Just tried it, as expected - Error: no data available. Please insert a source with software update data or check the source.

For me the update portal consistently says;
"Your navigation system can be updated only from DVD. Please visit your dealer."

Does that mean there was nothing on the SD card? Have you put it in to a laptop to have a look?

Yes it was as expected with the Mib1 and Mib2 folders. 26GB Total. One of the text files talks of Audi system update...

This made be a silly questions, but do the map updates do anything other than add new streets etc...

Do the maps look any different? I have a MY16, Build 12/15 Superb and want to update but not sure if worth the hassle?

Pretty sure it's only map (street) updates. You can get Traffic Reports switched on if you know someone with a VCDS cable. Works well

That's really annoying. They were able to do mine late 2016 (after 18 mths chasing up). Love to know what their issue is!!

HI all, anyone have anymore recent updates on this topic. My motor (MY15 VRS wagon) is due it 24month service next Monday (1 May) and hasn't had an update since new (still shows maps expired on the portal). Its currently running software 0371 with ROW2015 installed. Im hoping the dealership (Perth city Skoda) are going to be able to resolve/update it for me.

Hi all. I visited the portal, put in my VIN. Downloaded the file. Unzipped. Put onto a SD card, then into my Skoda Octavia RS and went into the system to update - nothing. Says it could not detect files. Does the SD card have to by formatted in a special way?
