Traffic Info Activation

hi all,

I have a MY16 Golf with the sat nav, anyone in Adelaide who has successfully got traffic to work without issues? my dealer told me that mine is active but VWA does not have a service in Adelaide only the eastern states.

Does this feature show live traffic detail - ie Red lines for heavy traffic like Google and Apple, or does it just show where the incidents are?

I missed this, but yeah, happy to help, just shoot me a PM and we can work something out. Weeknight evenings usually work pretty well, especially when you're just around the corner

It shows you where the incidents are and it feeds directly into your navigation. When you use the sat nav the current route you're travelling on will be amended as per the traffic conditions at that time and you'll be re-routed. It doesn't show live traffic on the map like Google does.

Question is why has this feature only just be enabled on MY15 - was there an update on ECU to allow VCDS to access this feature or was VCDS updated. The traffic button has been on for a while?

I have activated traffic info on a couple of Octavia's, works well. as an added bonus when in navigation traffic allerts show up as icons on the roads and the route changes based upon traffic conditions.

I've just received my OBD11 unit and activated TMC via adaptation.

The problem is that I have RDS option but no Traffic Program option so I can't enable it.

Where do I find the TP box, am Inlooking for it in the wrong place? I've got a MY15 so not sure why this would be.

EDIT: it ended up working without needing to enable TP on radio settings which for some reason I don't have showing. Went back to the car and worked straight away showing updates and dynamic routes. OBD11 is best $80 I've spent!

Mazstar, how long did the unit take to arrive? I ordered mine around the 10th of March, and the tracking link hasn't had any updates since 11/3 when it was first marked as shipped from Lithuania.
