Manual Mk 2 RS Gear knob form Mk3?

Just wondering if anyone knows how/if/maybe will a Mk3 Manual gear shift knob fit a Mk2 ?

My chrome edging on the gear knob has a sharp trailing edge. Got it replaced under warranty but it is still the same. The mk 3 looks better and am considering a straight swap over if it will work?

Don't see why it wouldn't, same gearbox no? Have you considered an aftermarket gear knob? Plenty out there, some made just for VAG cars. Some of the short shift kits look the business.

its not a straight swap. same gearbox does not mean same interior trim, especially between the mk2 and mk3 interior - vastly different they are!

someone on the briskoda forum did it. took a bit of work.

Thanks mate. Appreciate it. The Mk 2 i cant see being any better if I get is replaced again, and the mk3 one has the RS on the knob itself.
I have seen new Mk 3 ones around for 50 euros or so.
