    Went down to local Subway in my 20 year old T5 manual 2.0 litre , pulled out to turn onto mainroad and went for first gear nothing !! . Quickly realised that the gear stick was no longer connected to the linkages , no amount of waggling the limp stick made any difference . Sitting there with cars forming...

    Just bought a 2010 MY2011 Golf 118tsi Comfortline with 50,000klms on the clock.

    In any gearbox mode (Drive, 'Manual', or Sport mode), there is judder from standstill / before it goes into 2nd gear, and again after it goes into 2nd gear.

    The 2nd gear judder occurs less often...

    First silly question, is it ok to use the paddles in the 7.5 when the gear stick is still in the auto position.

    And second question, when I do this the on dash gears correctly show M2, M3 etc however the DSG does not automatically change up to a higher M gear unless high revs are achieved....

    Driving back today, I got the dreaded "Gearbox in emergency mode. You can drive on."


    My 2019 VW Tiguan 162 has only done 25,000 km. I never owned a car where the auto transmission ever failed.
