Just buy a normal baby seat protector, I use them with a thick towel in my previous Skoda. Nothing really special about the Skoda one.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks Guys, yeah its definitely not cheap!! I'm super paranoid I park mile away from the Kerb, I dont trust the parking sensors as they dont pick up anything low. Ideally we should have got front and rear cameras. I've bitten the bullet and ordered the Reiger rear valance for $300NZD delivered. Last one in stock off Ebay seller. it's also gloss black and has the cutout flap for the tow bar
I've been thinking about lowering the car. The arch gap doesn't look too bad with 19's but its pretty huge with 18's. Nothing crazy just Eibach Pro-kit and maybe spacers for the stock wheels till i decide on wheels.
I also picked up Heavy Duty rubber mats from SuperSkoda. I got suckered by the price till you add shipping and duty then realise how badly you got raped lol anyway future purchases will be met with more Skepticism.Last edited by Fizz; 04-08-2016, 01:07 PM.1999 Golf GTi - SOLD

Aren't the circumferences/diameters of the recommended tyres for the 18 inch and 19 inch wheels the same?
The arch gap will be more or less the same without lowering but the disks will look more puny.
I can see the relevance of larger diameter wheels for performance and/or hefty vehicles requiring larger diameter brake rotors but otherwise it is just a styling affectation which will probably give a poorer ride and arguably worse handling especially on standard Australian public roads.
Then again who am I to talk, I wore flairs and platform shoes in the 70's until sanity, or was it a fashion change, prevailed.

Looking to get the octavia's windows tinted in NSW, I remember there being a post or thread on it where someone recommended a mob in Sydney that did good work. Can anyone remember who that was, or alternatively suggest someone good? Newcastle would be easiest but Sydney is also ok.Vehicle: Octavia RS162 Steel Gray Wagon, Tow Bar, 18" Black Pack & Tech Pack

Washed it.. Waiting for it to rain now.
Noticed the coolant was slightly below the Min level, but driveway is on a slight slope (toward drivers side). Was going to top it up but a) manual says only to do it if the car is in level ground and b) the stuff that's in there is pink and the bottle I have is green...
Any recommendations on coolant or is it all much the same.. I used to always just buy the highest glycol % I could find.

^ dont mix your green coolant with the pink stuff in the car. Penrite make a VW/Audi/Skoda approved pink coolant which you can get from Supercheap/Repco etc.

Heh, at least you don't drive a white one - they seem to look dirty 5 minutes after you wash them!
In the absence of the pink coolant, top up with distilled water. You'll only need a cupful, so it's not going to have much effect on the glycol concentration in the cooling system. That's all I used when my Mk 2 was new - seems to be common for them to lose a bit of coolant when new, my Mk 3's coolant level seems edging to the MIN level as well.
I believe the pink coloured coolant is different from the green (yeah, apart from the colour...). I have heard/read somewhere that the green coolants can be detrimental to some Euro engines. I've no idea if there's any truth in that, could all be myth!MY 22 Superb Sportline Wagon. Moon White.

What did you do to your Octavia today?
Thanks guys... I was a little surprised the manual didn't say anything about suitable coolant types but a bit of demin water should do until I can find the right stuff.2007 Golf 2.0 TDI Comfortline DSG/ESP

BTW Nickd love the blue, agree with K_rider white is a PITA to keep clean. I washed mine yesterday and have to use a clay bar around the bottom part of the rear bumper closest to the fenders almost every time i wash it due to all the debris that gets flung upI've ordered Mudflaps for the front and rear hopefully that helps, now to decide if I leave them black or get them colour coded

The brightness can be adjusted through VCDS. The brightness setting suggested on Briskoda was a bit too bright for my liking, so lowered the setting (back to the same setting as it was originally for the incandescent bulbs).MY 22 Superb Sportline Wagon. Moon White.
