Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What did you do to your Octavia today?

Mine never popped open, but yes that was a really useful one, I kept the garage remote in it. Struggling to figure out where to keep that now, my with used one of the storage holes on the side of the drivers seat but they don't exist in the RS at least anymore.

I managed to get myself a fairly OEM-looking reverse camera retrofit kit for my Mk 3/5E Octavia, but don't have time/patience to do the install myself, not to mention it needing coding anyway. Does anyone know someone in/near Brisbane who has installed one who'd be able to do it?

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

You open the key in the key fob to take off the panel next to the door handle underneath. My battery went low once on the keyless entry and just as practice I took the panel off with ease, or a nudge but it didn't damage it at all so no need to worry!
Quickly, how did you get the Lap Timer and Dimming DRL when Indicating?[FONT=Franklin Gothic Medium]Matt

Hi guysPicked up a white 2014 RS wagon, coming from a stage 2+ mkv gti. I'm loving the high backed seats and gadgets. Already have a full resonated milltek system, cts intake and stage 2 tune. I need to tighten up the suspension, upgrade intercooler and looking at IS38 turbo upgrade
i'm currently waiting on my DTM front lip to arrive from superskoda
Quick question whats the part number for dv+ For our cars also how is everyone finding it now that you've had it installed for awhile?Last edited by Fizz; 11-07-2016, 09:52 PM.1999 Golf GTi - SOLD

Haven't noticed any difference yet but haven't done much else to the car. Awaiting my tune and exhaust (should be end of the month) that's when it will come into play.
When you install take the pipe of the back of the air box to give you more room. I found it easier to place the valve and body of the DV+ in first then put the solinoid on. But the pipe is a must or you will have no room to put it in straight. It seems like it will hold together but tilt it to far down like you need to do if you leave the pipe on it will come apart.Last edited by LunchboxVRS; 11-07-2016, 09:37 PM.

Stuff I've done so far...
Whilst not theoretically stuff I've done to my car today, it's happened over the last few weeks.
I was at Cars and Coffee in Melbourne on Saturday morning, and thought I may as well take some pictures to show progress.
I have had the car lowered on ST Springs and ST spacers to widen the stance. Also had a set of Magnaflow mufflers installed (have not taken out the resonator). You can see in the pic of the muffler, the little bit of yellow poking through from the spring.
And finally, after an unnecessarily long wait, I have put the VRS badge back on the front grill (yes I know it is offset to factory, I wanted it there).Vehicle of choice: Skoda Octavia RS Combi (Black Magic)
Previously: Volkswagen Jetta MY12 118tsi 6spd Manual (written off)
Reason to get up in the morning: Secondary school teacher

nice offset and ride height, should've come like that standard!
Disappointing that all the engine noise comes from the front of this car, hopefully the magnaflow has done the job for you.
Here's how the wheel sits in the guard compared with mum's S3... can't let mum have a better 'stance'
today our OEM license plate LEDs arrived - paid $25 USD including freight, genuine Skoda parts and got a free 'Skoda Motorsport' wristband as well
quick install and VCDS coding and it looks much better!Last edited by Lams; 12-07-2016, 11:24 AM.

I don't think I could bear any lower, these are lower than the MK2s. Sitting in my garage beside each other you really notice the differences, longer, wider and the chin sticking out the front means you have to be really careful with gutters and those parking concrete blocks, its lost about 20cm front room if you can't get over it. The extra length means its a tad trickier already, with the shortness of the Mk2 it didn't matter so much. The poke of those machined bits on the rims though means they are all gonna be scuffed, a very light touch in mine last week ground off metal, the tyre is level with those so no protection there.
