Standstill. Once I have got my car back, I am going to try whether the noise only comes on with the fan / air-con on. I am suspecting loose / defective engine mounts.

    • Hmmm. The next thing I would check is can you hear it in engine bay, or only from inside car

From both inside the car (and vibration in the steering wheel), in the engine bay and outside of the car with the hood down.

          • Haven't had a chance, will do it though after getting the car back.

            • Had the car checked with the dealer and they achknowloged that the noise and vibration is there and is related to the air-con or the flaps.

I have also told them that when the air-con is on, I could feel the vibration in the steering wheel and hear a low frequency noise. Going to bring it back and leave it with the dealer for few days after 26/1, hopefully I will be getting a VRS as a loan car

              • I'd like that, except then I'd want a vrs! Doing the housing churn and burn now, so money is your up in assets and not available for toys

                • Haha, to be honest, the Ambition Plus has plenty of go for me and the only thing that worries me is the 7 speed dsg since it is the dry clutch version not the wet in the MY15.

For a toy car, I would prefer a Golf R in manual and have the indicator stalk on the right, so that means... will never happen lol

                  • Yeah we love our ambition plus. The 1.4tsi is a bloody awesome engine. The other day in crawling traffic (26kph avg speed) I still averaged ~7.8l/100 in what was a crawl. Amazing considering the torque and performance on offer

                    • I am lucky that I don't really experience traffic jam in my day to day drive, so the little turbo engine always has opportunity stretch its legs and do some overtaking

Having said that, the air-con is typical European and I don't quite like the cruise control is on the indicator stalk, it would be easier if it was on the steering wheel.

Ha ha, plan was always to get new car, then drive it into the ground, and hopefully by the time its worthless, i'll own my house outright and can afford something proper fast. I have my motorbike to keep me entertained until then.

Ahh. With acc, cruise gets its own stalk. Really easy/good to use as well. You can use it in heavy traffic too!

Ours gets a mix of driving both highway and city. City during the week, highway on the weekend.

My personal preference is having the cruise control on the stalk rather than the steering wheel.
I have the standard cruise not ACC and I like that unlike other vehicles you do not have to turn it on (after each engine restart) before setting the required speed. Like also you can change gear on manual without disengaging cruise.
The thoughtful additions are so much more driver orientated than other brands mere 'bling'
