New Octavia ....when? How Much?

Now that it appears we are getting an influx of Octavia's, does anyone in Melbourne have any places they have (or will) take their cars to get window tinting done?

I got my lastcar tinted by Rob Tait in Ringwood but word on the Internet is he doesn't like to deal with VW's and Skoda's although I haven't called him to confirm this but I was happy with the job he did last time (it was a Focus ST).

I need to get my vRS tinted as well. Rob isn't too keen on the VW's (or Volvos, when I asked about my XC90). If there's a few Melbourne-ites that want to get their Octi's tinted, we might be able to organise a group discount - worth checking again with Rob - he might be interested if there's a few cars to be done? There's a place in Clayton that a friend recommended, I haven't contacted them yet however.

Like the Rapid, the Octavia range has been given a powertrain shuffle for the 2016 model year.

The entry-level 103kW petrol 103TSI is now replaced by the 110kW Euro 6 petrol 110TSI, but with the 132TSI now dropped from the regular Octavia range, the new unit is essentially a replacement for both.

Those that preferred the 132kW 132TSI don’t need to go without, but they’ll have to move to the Octavia Scout 4×4, now the only model to offer the more powerful mill. (The Scout is also offered in 110TDI and 135TDI diesel forms.)

In the cabin, the Octavia’s 5.8 inch ‘Bolero’ display has been upgraded to 6.5 inches, while the 8.0 inch ‘Columbus’ display is now packed with WiFi and SmartLink – the latter offering access to Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Skoda are on the ball, received the "Welcome to the family pack" yesterday, but still not got my car.
spoke to the dealer and the hold up seems to be with Patrick's dragging their heels in getting it from Melbourne to Adelaide.

I received my Skoda Family Pack yesterday as well ...... Except I've had my car for 6 mths. Be nice if Skoda HO Australia could get the balance right!

Venom's looked really good. Didn't have a detailed look (Pun intended) but Nik did a quality job on my paint protection.
PS. Are you sick of the Turini's yet ? Willing to swap ?

Why would you bother. He clearly doesn't like doing VW product & pulls all the door trims off - which isn't needed.

I don't think Rob would do any cheaper for a group. He really doesn't like working with VAG cars. His price is pretty good, the door trim thing I don't really understand but in the long run it means the film will never peel from the window bottoms. He is pretty old school, from what I understand he is one of the longest tinters around. He is meticulous, he won't even run fans in his workshop in summer in case they blow particles that get stuck under the film.

I've been thinking further about the map issue Venom. It may be possible that map updates are locked out, as i downloaded the theoretical correct one from the map portal and it gave the same response as the newer maps. Tried the ROW map from Skoda South Africa as well with the same response. Haven't tried setting the cars date back to before delivery date, which is the license expiry from the portal though.
