I'm buying my Octavia on a Novated Lease as well. They generally work out well for me, this will be my third (although the first on the higher FBT brackets).
Still, the figures I worked off still had a NL being beneficial.
Woohoo 2wglobal is saying my car will land in Melbourne Friday. Dealer reckons it'll take 2-3 weeks before I can pick it up. Does it usually take that long?
Unfortunately I've only got the MY15.5 model. Would have been great to get a MY16 model but not keen on waiting any longer.
MIB2 will be in the MY16 models with Mirrorlink is what I've been told
I cancelled my MY15.5 to wait another 3 months to get it as I really wanted Mirrorlink given it's almost impossible to change the head unit due to the encryption
I ordered my VRS in May. If MY16 models are hitting dealerships in August, then I'm hoping mine will be a MY16 considering it should be arriving in November. That being said, I'm still yet to get a build date..
Shopping around with 1 or 2 dealers and best price quoted is $49k drive away for the following:
MY16 Octavia RS 162TSI Wagon, DSG, Tech Pack, Comfort Pack, 18" Black Pack, Sunroof, Auto Tailgate and Metallic Paint.
Just wondering if the above is reasonable based on sales history by members or I should shop around more? Any members with similar spec'ed car?
You should be able to do a bit better than that. My order included your specs except black pack but included Black Turini wheels ($1600), chrome pack, Internal alarm upgrade and extended warranty for around that price. Plus dealer included boot netting and additional boot mat that folds out to cover tailgate. However, I have also noticed that the prices have slightly gone up in the last 12 months.

Gone: 2005 Honda Accord Euro | Metallic Silver | 2.4L 4cyl MT

Yes get the impression that due to demand for the vehicle they are less willing to negotiate and according to dealer the MY16 with added tech... Mirrorlink etc. has also added about $600+ to the price. Definitely thinking that if they wish to stock to that figure will need to get them to throw in a few extras including the extended warranty, to sweeten the deal somewhat.
On a quick calc with all those options, $49K is about a $2k discount on retail? Based on history (mine and others) I reckon they can do better (you are ordering the kitchen sink after all!), but depends on how hard you want to negotiate and if they want to make less money.
This is going on at the moment, read the fine print, might be no good for you, but if it is be aware of it when negotiating (and its appears to come with the finance so don't factor it into any DA pricing).

Agreed, i got about 9% discount from retail 1 month ago on an ambition plus.
Given the big chunk of extras added to the MY16 Polo for only a few hundred more $$$, I'd think forex isn't an issue at the moment.
Smart money protects itself against currency movement (or so my CFO tells me haha).
Yeah, I've bought 2 Skodas, both around the 10% discount mark without any tricks or hard bargaining. Its smart to ask here what other people have been paying, that $2k difference will be a factor when you want to sell it. But sometimes you pay a premium for a myriad of reasons (eg, immediate delivery!).
At least with the Skodas I haven't had buyers remorse or lusted after something different 3 months later They are quality for the money.
