I changed this the other night, under the car settings you can change it to driver side doors or all four doors.

    • Same tyres Ian.

Cheers for your thoughts. Seems the H6 Liberty was a proper luxury sports car of its day if you could ignore the fact it detonated engines frequently....

And drank like a sailor on shore leave. Canton gets much better with time. Change the 'sound' setting to front or driver too, it sounds terrible in the other one. It's also really harsh on crap sources - CD sounds a lot better than pretty much anything else. You have an rs, so Columbus can play flac audio files. Make sure everything on your SD card is flac.

My kessy is set to unlock all, but I find I press the key because someone always gets to the car first. Kessy seems like a great option for when you are by yourself, but not so if you carry lots of people.

Lots of people here seem to come from Subaru's. Especially since subaru stopped making mostly good cars, and only had a few good ones now (compared to rest of market).

          Other thoughts:
No fuel tank lock or remote release is weird. It locks when you lock the car
A little less responsive than hoped, maybe it will improve.Tight as a fishes bum - you'll need 5000km of getting into it and 15k to get it 98% bedded-in. Just keep loading it up and letting it over-run

Sound maker sounds crap in Sports mode, better (less obtrusive) in Normal. I'd like to hear and feel the engine itself, no matter how quiet it is.You can turn that off with VCDS

Kessy - need to read the book to get it to unlock all doors when I'm near, or in the car. Annoying everyone else at present by locking them out. There are lots of small features that go un-noticed unless you read the manual

Carpets thin. Suspect they will wear through in drivers footwell before long.Buy some floor mats

Clutch could be a bit heavier, as could steering. The steering might be adjustable with VCDS but the weighting won't change the lack of feedback

In the Mark 2 Octavia, the fuel hatch is locked when you lock the doors.

I didn't realise that until recently, it seemed like the Octavia is the logical choice to prev gen Subaru owners. We are replacing our MY07 Liberty with the Octavia RS.

In other news.. my unicorn was born last week!! still waiting for a ship!

                  • I don't know about KESSY but with remotes if you have it set to just open for the driver and want all you press unlock twice. Is there a way to tap the door handle twice?

It's linked to keys btw, on our mk2 mine unlocks just the driver, my wife's does all.

Mine's done 220k without detonating Kwicks ! Nanna driving FTW !

And as GTR described, there were some downsides (Although Nanna driving helped with that as well !).
RS scheduled for pickup Friday, Looking forward to it.

                      • I had 4 engines Matt. Didn't seem to matter if it was Subaru apprentices or the local mechanic servicing them, they each saw a couple off. Big end bearings. I drive the first one pretty hard - cruises and the like but no race tracks, the second similarly and the third like it was a baby. Same result. By the way, it had 229000 on it when I parted with it. Single longest engine life was sub 100000km. Here's hoping the EA888 is tougher than the EZ30R!

Hey Kwicks. I have vcds and in Melb. Once I get my Octy sussed we can have a play.

Wow, Lots of Subie refugees ! Reinforces what I thought when I ordered. The Octy is the natural followup for the Liberty Gen4 !

Wow. I must have been lucky and got a good one. I do know of others that had issues though.

                            • The h6 had lots of oil consumption issues too didn't it? Like 1.4 twin charged levels of consumption?

Regardless. I think Subaru have started to make changes, to get back where they were. More competition is always good.

High oil consumption on some. Especially early years. Again mine was rock solid. I think the issues were related. If oil levels low then detonation possible, threads galore on club.liberty !

Anyway. Enough JDM rubbish. We are onto the full Euro experience now !
