Didn't cause my guy any issues & he does dozens of VW based product (even has a VW work truck). Rob wants to take the trims off every car - go figure.

What about non-tech pack (but with black pack) for RS?

Look around for one in stock. Most stock cars are without tech pack as most people want that, which is why they are still stock.

Without tech pack might be quicker, but who knows?

        • Been a looong time since I've posted here, we sold our Mk2 RS last year as we needed to upsize.

I'm about to trade in my Kia Sportage, and I've got an Octavia Elegance with Tech Pack in Metal Grey coming at the moment - I was trying to get an RS, but the dealer couldn't find me one coming anytime soon, so they found me an Elegance with Tech Pack on a boat. Hoping it gets delivered late November, the boat's just left South Africa yesterday and is on it's way across the Indian Ocean!

Well done spookya, TSI or TDi? Race Blue very nice. You just answered most of my questions.... maybe April 2015 at least before you get it. What dealer did you go with? PM me please.

              • Ok I have to ask the Octavia Guru's to get their crystal balls out.

What do you guys consider Skoda will add in terms of Technology to the range and Options Packs in 2015?

I suppose they will raise the bar with the RS?

Of course if the VAG group have it, will Skoda get these goodies last in the line?

                Cheers Al

                • We may get some options from overseas. Lane assist etc. But we have just about everything in australia already. I'd say we may get the 1.8 AWD octavia, but that is unlikely as AWD is such a small market for us, and they would be better pushing the scout for that.

Price drops/more equip std would be my guess. The front assist/city emergency brake std would be my guess (they will add safety features as std and keep cost the same)

Have you dealt with Josh at BBS?

Your summation above, seems like a logical assumption GTR27 thank you.

Yes Josh called me this week to see if we were ready to commit and if he could assist further.

There are still a number of dealers interstate with floor stock and demo RS Wagons DSG TDi, with options and some asking less than $39k drive away.

I am concerned with the weaker Aussie dollar and what effect that will have on imports and prices dealers if and when they will need to review prices?

                    Cheers Al

                    • Josh is who I bought the car from. I must be his most annoying customer, but he is pretty good to deal with. Quite understanding and knows a fair bit about the process now.

At the end of the day though, buy from whoever gives you the best deal. Throw some numbers about (spec in configurator, take 8-10% off and say if he agrees to that, you'll sign today.)

Good luck! This time next month I should have my car. From being hopeful when I ordered at the start of May (before the huge factory issues really stuck their neck out) to it being 3-4 months.....to the sad reality it will be just over a week shy of 7 months......

The most disappointing thing about the whole experience isnt the dealer (well, hoping when it turns up it's a manual with the options I ordered!) but the attitude that Skoda aus have in dealing with customers. It sucks, and I mean SUCKS. I've never spoken to a more rude, arrogant bunch of people who wont even admit they have some terrible supply issues, and that we get screwed in the australian market. It would be much better if we got a similar deal to the UK (where skoda rates highest for customer satisfaction) - the stories on Briskoda of how they get treated are amazing!

Seven months GTR27! You will be very pleased to get your prize.

We have to remember well, that the Octavia is Skodas' Golf, yes? A mechanical duplicate of the Golf yes? But with much more to offer, when the Golf is smaller by a noticeable margin, yes? And the Mk7 Golf GTi has no wagon option yet, yes? Plus you can get a pseudo Golf Mk7 Golf and with TDI and in a wagon too, yes? And Skoda prices are smaller, yes? So is dealing with Skoda Aus worth the ownership experience, yes? What else?

Around 3 months ago, I rang Skoda Aus with a reasonably easy query, will the option packs include Tow Bar Acc Kit? 'we will refer this and call you back!'. Still waiting...... will they call, i do not think so. GTR27 your right they do not care!

                        Cheers Al

                        • Skoda's problem is they launched in Australia before they secured the product they needed. That's the FAIL they won't admit, but pulling the advertising campaign telegraphed that cock up. The fact that they are now 8 months post launch and still haven't pulled back supply time means Skoda HQ has no faith in them either. That's my read of it. In my line of work you be unemployed if you were responsible for that kind of service delivery failure.

                          • The problem is they have us by the balls. There is no other wagon, this size, with these features, for this price on the market. It's natural competitors (Mazda 6, Mondeo etc) are all waaaaay more expensive, with no manual options. Only other manual available are Renault megane gt220, i30 wagon base model and possibly base model cruze. All of which are smaller (megane being closest to Octavia).

I LOVED my mk2 rs, and really regretted selling it, so I hope the new one is as good (obviously not performance wise, but that it meets my expectations). If it is, and you have the luxury of waiting, then yes it's worth it. The luxury of waiting is hard and not available to a lot of people though......

He did a great job at a very good price. No issues with taking door trims off. Not sure if he's done any of the new shape Octavias yet.

                              • I plan on taking mine for tinting to the guy I've used for the last 3 cars, including the last rs. Still deciding, but leaning towards 20% tint, due to the sunroof making the inside of the car heaps lighter
