He got that price from me on another forum we hang out on. I had a guess at the prices on the black packs, auto tailgate, metal paint etc & was pretty well spot-on. It was pointless to go with anyone elses guesses. FIGJAM

Benmac is correct that we dont have the facts, but it would look stupid if they tried to charge much more than 2K.

They will charge more than 2K. Personally I feel 2.5 is fair and I can tolerate up to 3k without feeling screwed. My dealer said 2.9 but he probably just made it up.

RVC camera for a Golf in UK is ~GBP165. Call it AUD350 with a bit of fat.

Other options add up to AUD3020 as individual items. Call it $3500 with a bit of fat. Less 40% package price =$2100. I'd bet all the feeling in my left ear on it that it will be AUD2100 or less

Perhaps a flawed assumption is the 40% across the range pack discount'. They can sell more RS/Vrs than they can make. They don't have to try very hard to get customers to opt for the tech pack on an RS factory order and nearly all orders will be 5 month plus lead time factory orders by the customer. In this and the whirlpool thread I have not seen many say they don't want the tech pack on their RS.

Apparently it's so cheap in the UK that they've taken it off the options list because there is a 5 month wait for reverse cameras - still available elsewhere in Europe though.

Regarding tech pack I would assume you can order it in a factory order now with a price to be adjusted on delivery. It certainly won't be built before week 22 with the current lead times. I am visiting the dealer on Monday for a test so will ask.
