There was no leather seat option at all until the last few yrs. When I bought mine, options were, sunroof, xenons, front parking sensors and the Columbus. The DSG was just appearing as an option and the diesel was due soon. They then dropped the high spec alarm.

There wasn't even an option to extend warranty...

Could be because they may not do one, maybe a Rapid or Superb scout instead.

Leather was available in the Elegance when I bought mine (2007 build, July 08 purchase). The demo I drove was black factory leather with black metallic paint & sunroof

              +1

another example where the Elegance has/had more "luxurious" options, in comparison to the vRS.

Sorry should have said, there was no leather option at all in the RS. It was always available in the other models. But most likely it was because they saw the Leather/Alcantera in the RS as a better option. The leather option in the RS became available after they did a special leather version in the UK. I suspect the "leather" parts they put in place of the Alcantera was probably the synthetic leather. I quite like not sliding around in the standard RS seats compared to full leather in other cars I've had.

The interior alarm crept its way back eventually into being a standard feature, I think it was around when the Columbus started to be included.

Heated seats r std with both alcantra & leather.
There are other models to the RS you know, I was talking about the Elegance/118TSI and 103TDI. Electric seats were listed on the Octavia options list as a separate option to leather seats and I remember an Elegance wagon in the showroom when we got our RS five years ago that had an electric drivers chair with cloth seats. You can't get electric seats on the [current] RS at all and you never could; hopefully you will be able to on the new one.

CarAdvice is reporting the media embargo is being lifted at 12pm today, so we should expect prices and specs shortly.

OK so it looks like CarAdvice are ignoring the media embargo!

Base price for 103TSI manual will be $22990.

Capped price servicing to be standard.
