You don't get the ice scraper, refelective vest, warning triangle, first aid kit or fire extinguisher in Australia. What makes you think you would?

That's just a standard reflective vest you can buy at Bunnings for $6.50 or borrow from most work places (because you need a reflective vest for making a cup of tea). While at Bunnings you may as well get a warning triangle $10, a fire extinguisher $20 and a St.Johns First Aid Kit $20.

For all of you who received your vRS TSI, just wondering if the car came with a hood silencing panel? Similar to this one - Octavia III - original Skoda Auto,a.s. hood silenting panel : superskoda.com.

All the TDIs have them. If the MK2 is an indication, they seem to fit them to the TSI engines on a whim.

My 1.8tsi didn't have one but I had one fitted "under warranty" as the vRS had them fitted (pre-FL Mk2). In both thepre-FL & FL model, some petrol engines had them & some didn't.

They are used mainly as a heat insulator to help the engine heat up quicker & retain heat but they also help insulate the bonnet paint from engine heat & provide a small level of sound insulation.

You can buy them from AliExpress for half the price of what they are in AU.

I cannot see much point in sound insulation for the TSI's, you struggle to hear them anyway until you put your foot down.
I thought the vRS TSI has an artificial f**t sound generator fitted?

I fitted mine mainly to protect the paintwork on the bonnet as I've had a couple of other cars where the heat from the engine killed the paintwork.

I also like that it helps the engine heat up much quicker.

Noise - I'm ambivalent about it but when other people were complaining about the injector noise at idle I was like WTF?

Wouldn't this cause additional heat sink for the turbo then?
