they'll dyno different.
the GTI has the CCZB.
the vRS has the CCZA.
u'll c this on the build plate & engine identification.
the A & B in the CCZ define what software tune the ECU gets.
A = 147 kW
B = 155 kW
but because both have the same engine, performing a ecu tune will see both end up having the same figures.
for eg, with an apr stg 1 tune, both the GTi & the vRS will end up having 189kW, and the same torque.
back on the mk3 vRS, now we sit and wait to see how skodavw australia will spec as standard, and options we'll get.
last i heard, november this year we should c it on our shores.Last edited by dArK5HaD0w; 08-06-2013, 05:13 PM.MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

Can't work out whether those seats look futuristic or retro...
Needs the fancy wheels at the start of the thread....
Once again, (in case anyone from SkodOZ are lurking)...
The wagon, in that blue, with the lifback wheels in a 4mo manual....sigpic

Does not thrill me.
I like the feature set but I'll wait till I see one in the flesh and see how they are specified for Australia before I decide. The body somehow looks cheap to me with those square edges particularly the bonnet area, the front grill looks too much like the current Kia grill and the wheels apart from looking like they came from HSV left over parts look like they will suffer badly if they get anywhere near a kerb.
Overall at this stage rather than keep me in the Skoda camp I'm thinking Audi or VW may get my next lot of money.
In the photos the wagon appears to have had the front lowered to make it look like a US low rider (WTF do that?). It would fail Australian design rule requirements in the form that it has been photographed. Maybe Skoda want to appeal to the 20 something yo late night curb crawler set with these photos but if they think a vehicle that will ground it's undercarriage on any speed hump in the real world is a seller then good luck to them. I wish they would photograph the car as it really is rather than stylised with artificially adjusted suspension.Last edited by K1W1; 01-07-2013, 09:49 PM.

I agree, the new vRS looks really odd, especailly with all the jagged edges everywhere (especially above the fog lamps)

And there was me expecting post after post from the fan boys telling me what a traitor to the cause I am.
This thing is bland in a big way. It may go alright and it will be reliable and no doubt well equipped for the price but a performance car looker it is not.
BTW compare the front wheel arches and overall front end height in the pics above the the artificially lowered white wagon on the earlier pages in this thread. This is what you will be driving not the low rider white wagon.Last edited by K1W1; 02-07-2013, 09:06 PM.

Hmmm, the grey vRS estate in the photo doesn't have roof rails...is that a new option?
I guess the extra chiselling at the front bumper is to give it a "sharper" nose compared to the standard Octavia...
But I agree, the ride height and also the choice of wheels are not the most flattering in these pics!
Looks quite ordinary...but I suppose VW can't have the new Skoda looking meaner than the new Golf
