was reading the new mk3 octavia user manual, and noted some interesting things:-
1. Traffic sign recognition
Traffic sign recognition allows traffic signs with maximum speeds/no overtaking recognised by the system to be shown in the instrument cluster display.
Traffic sign recognition works on the basis of the data captured by the camera and is only able to show traffic signs which are in the camera's viewing range
2. Adaptive HeadLights
The system automatically adjusts the cone of light in front of the vehicle based on the vehicle speed, whether the windscreen wipers are in use, the rear fog lights, and data from Infotainment Navigation.
3. KEYSS
4. 12-Volt power socket: in the front centre console and in the boot
5. 230-Volt power socket at centre console at rear.
6. Front centre console: Multimedia holder
You can use this holder to store e.g. a mobile phone, MP3 player or similar devices.
7. "Real" Handbrake
8. Park-Assist
9. No mention of "adaptive" cruise-control
10. START-STOP system
11. Driving Mode Selection - Normal; Sport; Eco; Individual - this mode is provided for making custom settings to the vehicle systems (steering, engine, dynamic cornering lights, air conditioning)
12. Lane Assist
13. USB and AUX inputs or MEDIA IN input located above the stowage compartment in the front centre console
14. Driver’s knee airbag
15. front & rear side airbags
