This issue seems to be with turbo petrol engines only. Had a 2006 Passat which drank oil furiously (2.0T) while my current 2.0 diesel Scout hasn't used a drop in 66,000k.MY2014 Skoda Octavia Ambition Plus Wagon, DSG, Capuccino, Tech Pack

I assume its (147TSI) the same engine oil as the Tiggy TSI? Penrite 5W-30?carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

I got my petrol VRS at 14,000km - just had it's 15k service
I did not check the oil level at that time
Last week I turned over 16,500km and the oil light cam on
Gave it 500ml which brought the oil level to 60% on the dip stick
This is well under the 0.5L per 1,000km detailed in the manual2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers

Petrol RS. I bought a one litre bottle of Penrite at about the 7 - 8k mark when the oil level was approaching the low mark on the dipstick (I'm way too anal to wait for the oil light to come on!!) and topped it up with 300ml, then a further 200ml (maybe a bit less) at about 13 - 14k. I've just now added 300ml again at 21k.
So, well less than one litre of top-up oil in 20k (with 15k service in-between).
I'm not sure why VAG expect oil consumption to be as high as 0.5l / 1000km. If this was the case, I'd have gone through two, 5 litre bottles of the stuff by now - just in top-ups!
The only time I've seen oil consumption approaching this level, was when riding hard on air-cooled motorbikes in the middle of summer.MY 22 Superb Sportline Wagon. Moon White.
