    hence why some of the pre-facelifts have the "newer" TSI (EA888 ) engine, as opposed to the previous TFSI (EA113) engine.

      My Octavia is a 2007 build. It has the EA888 1.8TSI in it. They were in Australian Skodas from the initial launch of the marque in Australia in Oct 2007.

      When the EA888 was introduced to Skoda production isn't the issue. The point I was making is that the EA888 has been around for almost 6 years & therefore is not "new" (relative or otherwise).
