decided i'd take todd's advise n start a thread of the "this is ur life"

to kick things off - here she is at the dealer's being prep'ed, fresh of the ship

this was the moment i 1st saw her in the flesh.....

my 1st mod - skoda valve covers
    an extra 3kW there

then the wifey did some of her artwork!!! thankfully it was only superficial, and it was buffed off. phew!!

after her 1st incident, she decided she wanted to do more - this time the driver's wing mirror vs the garage brick wall!!
$100 later from ecstuning, brand new mirror bit & it was all good.

    next stop - "It's a Skoda. Honest"

after umm'ing & rrrr'ing, lots of reading & research, i decided on a DIY bluetooth install.
    more details here.

next up....some chrome bits from superskoda. vrs seat badges & chrome pocket rings.

said hello to a few other skodalites.

more bits from superskoda - this time rear sill protectors.
this site is so bad for the hip pocket i tell ya!!!

next on the cards - eibach prokit springs.
was meant to get it installed 7th march, but there's been a 2 week delay

    stay posted..........

Nice one mate. Maybe the wife is trying to tell you she didn't want the yellow one
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

oh, i forgot to make special mention of the rear sills from superskoda - delivery was quick!!!!!
ordered last wednesday 29th feb, was despatched on the 29th itself, and it was delivered yesterday - tues 6th mar!!
less than a week!! including sat & sun.
when i ordered the seat chrome bits last year - it took almost 3 wks!! go figure.

i think the "bigger the package" - the faster the delivery

yeah.....i've always had a thing for anthracite wheels on yellow. who knows, maybe one day i might.

as for the last 2 items on my sig:-
"DRL Indicator Dim" - when the DRLs r at full power (side and/or low beams off), and the indicator is switched on, the DRL on that side only dims. for example, left indicator turns on, left DRL dims, right DRL remains at full power. left indicator cuts out. left DRL returns to full power. just like wat the audis do.
activated this feature myself via VCDS.
Control Module > [09] Central elec / Coding / Long coding helper / byte 15 / bit 3, tick the box.

CH/LH with Foglights - basically its Coming Home and Leaving Home functionality using the foglights, instead of the default low beam lights. in my case, i didn't want my xenons being fired everytime i left or approached my car in low light conditions. besides there was no need to light up the whole world. the light from the foglights would suffice.
activated this feature myself via VCDS.
Control Module > [09] Central elec / Coding / Long coding helper / byte 17/ bit 3, tick the box.

while i was at it (VCDS coding myself), i activated Cornering Foglights.
Normally its a $150 option - dealer price!!
Control Module > [09] Central elec / Coding / Long coding helper / byte14 / bit 5, Check the box.

the xenon's come with dynamic cornering - i.e. the actual xenons turn/pivot in the direction of the steering.
cornerning foglights activate just the 1 foglight, on the turning side. when u finished turning, that foglight turns off.
u need to have low beams on for this function to work.

                it definately wasn't standard on my11 models. i don't know about the my12 - i haven't check the brochures.

oh ok I get it ... yeah pretty sure I need to be getting this feature enabled, and the DRL dim

DRL dim is awesome, as are free cornering fogs.
If you don't enable both boxes, fogs will only come on with steering. If both boxes are enabled, they'll also come on with indicator.

                    Bloody handy.

actually they're both independant of each other.

if u have cornerning foglights enabled, it will work based on steering input & speed below 40km/h - regardless of the indicator being on or not. provided low beams r activated.
it doesn't care if the DRL dimming feature is enabled.

same control modules for both, but no dependancy.

I meant both cornering foglight tickboxes.
There are two that The_Hawk and I found whilst exploring VCDS.

                            I know there's one somewhere.
When you turn the indicator on, and slow down to under 40, the fog comes on.
After changing my BCM, it doesn't do it anymore.

I wanna get this changed. Might give the dealership a list, at the 15,000 service. Its coming up soon. :S

so the springs were installed today - am happy with the finish. the ride & the look.
                              eibach pro-kit (p/n: E10-79-004-02-22; Skoda p/n: ZGB1Z3071676)

admittedly the front has dropped 30mm, while the rear has dropped 20mm, as expected.
measurements (with full tank) from the ground to the top of the wheel arch:-
                              before front: 680mm
                              before rear: 690mm

                              after front: 650mm
                              after rear: 670mm

maybe the rears r yet to settle in.

here r some grainy iphone pics from inside my garage. i got home late, so no good pics.

speakin of getting home late, i noticed my xenons need to be realigned. they're projecting much less. since the frontend has dropped 30mm, this changes the throw of the low beam distance.
even the skoda accessories website states that headlights need to be realigned after fitting these.
so now i gotta book it in with the dealer n get it done.
