Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Columbus trim surround part No

I replace the stock radio for someone in the last week for a Columbus nav unit (which in itself was easy enough), however the trim surrounding the radio and air con controls is different for the columbus and it seems that finding the right part is a bit of a nightmare.

    This thread here:
Octavia II columbus fascia surround - BRISKODA.net - The Skoda Forum and Community

talks about part no 1Z0858069B9B9, but ETKA doesn't seem to think it exists and while it lists different fascia/trim bits, not seem to be the right one for this install.

Does anyone have the Columbus unit and want to pull the silver surround out and read the part number off it for me?

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Do you a deal if you have access to ETKA: can you get me the part numbers for rear light assemblies for Octavia 1Z FL Kombi vs Liftback. Are they different numbers?

      Facia for stereo/climatronics in mine is 1Z0 858 069 DK DF1

      1Z0 858 069 DK
      Is listed as:
Trim for switch for vehicles with navigation system
      air-conditioning system with electronic regulation

1Z0 858 069 DK DF1 is the "light tonal brushed" version (ie different colour).

In his case he has the manually controlled air conditioner so it's going to be a different unit.

There are at least three different units shown:

And even then there are a butt load of part numbers, the ones JUST for item 9 are:

      trim for heater switch:
      1Z0 858 069
      1Z0 858 069 9B9 - Satin Black

trim for heater switch for vehicles with navigation system:
      1Z0 858 069 D
      1Z0 858 069 D 9B9 - Satin Black

All these are listed as D >> 06.11.2011 which I assume means "PRIOR to 06.11.2011"

      trim for heater switch:
      1Z0 858 069 CT
      1Z0 858 069 CT 2AU - finely turned aluminum

trim for heater switch for vehicles with navigation system:
      1Z0 858 069 DA
      1Z0 858 069 DA 2AU - finely turned aluminum

      trim for heater switch:
      1Z0 858 069 DB
      1Z0 858 069 DB 2AU - finely turned aluminum

trim for heater switch for vehicles with navigation system:
      1Z0 858 069 DC
      1Z0 858 069 DC 2AU

All these are listed as D 07.11.2011 >> which I assume means "AFTER to 07.11.2011"

      trim for heater switch:
      1Z0 858 069 DR
      1Z0 858 069 DR WD1 - Dark Silver

trim for heater switch for vehicles with navigation system:
      1Z0 858 069 EJ
      1Z0 858 069 EJ WD1 - Dark Silver

      trim for heater switch:
      1Z0 858 069 DM
      1Z0 858 069 DM WD1 - Dark Silver

trim for heater switch for vehicles with navigation system:
      1Z0 858 069 DN
      1Z0 858 069 DN WDA - Dark Silver

      trim for heater switch:
      1Z0 858 069 EA
      1Z0 858 069 EA VL8 - Cinamora wood

The list for items 10 and 11 are even longer Now there are model details listed against each one, so I think if I had the manual I might just be able to work something out, although even then I'm not 100% convinced. I get the fact there is different colours and even a change at a particular year model/variant, but this just looks crazy complex for no good reason.

It looks like all the "11" parts are for "Trim for switch for vehicles with navigation system, air-conditioning system with electronic regulation".
And all the "10" series parts are for "trim for switch with manually regulated air conditioning"
      Series "9" is everything else??

In my case I *think* it's a "9" series part, just need to nail down exactly which one is right.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

          Thanks.
Confirms that they are indeed diffferent part numbers. Clears something up for me.
