Booked in for next Thursday. Hope your car was quiet from cold.
Looking for shaver for Christmas.
Brycem - what did you say to get the clip done?? I've been to Gold Coast Skoda 2x and Brisbane Prestige and all 3 times, they all recite the same line: "this noise is characteristic of this engine"!! (of course it is - they all have a wastage actuator rod problem)

We have indiscreet pictures of the dealer principal
Seriously though I cannot speak for Brycem but I think the only reason I got my clip is because I complained to Adrian at Brisbane Prestige... alot...
There are notes on my service records of me complaining about the rattle from my first service. As soon as the VW fix came out I emailed Adrian and asked him to get onto it. I believe some other customers (probably Brycem) did the same. I rang him every two weeks after that.
To give him credit he did chase Skoda Aus. Skoda Aus still do not recognize there is a problem, but Adrian worked hard to convince them to allow the fix as a goodwill gesture.
The simple fix has improved my happiness with the car significantly.
I would simply give Adrian a call and ask very nicely if he can help.
Perhaps if you get your car serviced there you can ask if they can fit the clip at the same time? Keep in mind that the clips are on perpetual backorder and non-VW dealers are treated like red-headed stepchildren.
Floodgates are open Skoda Aus. All cars should now be fixed foc under warranty. Adrian is pretty good in holding his own with the area rep, whose sole purpose in life appears to be to deny legitimate warranty claims.
i emailed my dealer yesterday again with regards to this issue. i even attached the technical bulletin which clearly shows it applies to the 'CCTA' engines, which the FL RS has.
now i wait and see......

if it is the case, then skoda aus will have to approve the fix under warranty.
Not necessarily. It took VAG a month or so, plus a dealer willing to order and perform the work on their on dime to confirm that it resolved the issue with local cars, before they approved it for warranty fix...
Just cause there is an overseas TPI doesn't mean the local offices support it :/

i know.
atleast i have a better chance of convincing them to fix it with a skoda issued tpi, than with a vw issued tpi.

Have emailed Trivett Parramatta to see if they can fix. Waiting for a response re a dodgy +paddle shifter, so hopefully they can look at this at the same time.
