Went to Northshore today as I needed my first service. Spoke to the salesman who looked after me when I got my car and he told me he was being laid off by Northshore Autogroup. All of the Skoda salesman have been laid off and he was the last one left but he managed to get a job at the West Pennant Hills (Alto Skoda) so good on him. Apparently there are going to be a lot of changes at Northshore with a brand new sales team. I wont go there since I really liked the service I got and didnt like them laying off someone who actually knew what he was doing.
When I change my car, I will be going to Alto.

Had my first service today at Rockdale Skoda.
They now have their workshop open on site. No complaints about the service, or the service...
Had the recall work done, fixed a squeak (one rear seat wasnt fully clicked into place apparently, felt like a dolt for not finding that) and the service manager said he would look into the fact I dont have a map DVD as the original dealer Mentone in Melbourne I beleive is out of business.
So overall happy would go back there for basic service and warranty work.2011 Skoda Octavia vRS TDI DSG wagon|Revo Stage 1|Race Blue|Leather|Dynamic Xenons w 6000K|9w7 BT|THA475 Amp+active sub|Whiteline ALK|RVC|

Info please

It's a combined VW, Skoda and Honda dealership.
They gave me a courtesy car (free) and allowed me to return the next day to pick up as I couldn't make it back that day.
The car came back washed, the highbeams realigned and the car driving like a dream.
I've had 2 previous services done by Northshore.
They were told about the headlight alignment problem but did nothing although they stated it had been rectified.
And returned it unwashed.
I'll go back happily and am happy to give them my Polo GTI for service too.

I had an exhaust pressure sensor on my 2010 Scoutreplaced at Trivett Alexandria (Skoda dealer is Rosebery, service is O'Riordon St Alexandria). Hassle free, plenty of updates on what was happening and cost not billed to me
No idea about how they are at chasing down niggling problems though....Brilliant Silver Octavia Scout 2010

Good to know Inego ...thanks, I'll give them a try next! I also had a tow bar fitted & although the part with the ball is a genuine Skoda part with the incorrect rating for the Scout the actual bar has the label "Bar Boys". Can anyone enlighten me? My last car was a Saab 93 & I had two before that so Skoda is a big change for me & being female I'm not really into all the technical aspects of cars. The Scout felt good, drove well & was a similar size to the Saabs plus it ticked all my boxes. Just wondering about the tow bar though as I thought I was getting a genuine Skoda part.

Hey Mesu,
The LHS dash rattle is *usually* caused by loose torx screws. There are 3 that locate the dashboard; they live behind the end cap on the left end of the dash.
This can be tricky to cure, because in my experience this rattle can vary with temperature - so it may not just be location, but temperature when tightened. That said, I read of people who have had it fixed, so persevere...

Rockdale dealer
I bought a Skoda from the Rockdale (actually at Banksia) dealer recently - it is part of the Stewart Toyota Group, and they do Kia and Skoda. Only took on Skoda about a year ago, and the staff we've dealt with there are quite friendly, although the answers I get to questions about daytime running lights indicate they're still learning.Škoda Octavia TDi103 liftback (MY12)

I had my Octavia RS serviced at Rockdale last week, for the 2-year service.
The guy I spoke to was nice enough, but they failed to fix my dashboard squeak. Said something about there being too many loose items in the car and asked me to take the car back when it's empty and they can diagnose the problem properly.
Now to me this was a sign of their laziness. All I had in the car was a pair of sunglasses, the car manuals and service book, and 3 CD cases. I also have 2 baby seats in the back seat, but to me that was irrelevant. It was going to be pretty obvious that none of those things were causing the squeak (as it was coming from the front passenger side). How hard would it have been to take out those loose items in the glovebox?
That really annoyed me. It's hard enough for me to take time out from work to take the car for a service, and now they want me to take the car in again.
I was also really struck by how quiet it was at the dealership. Usually whenever I drop off my car for a service at a dealership, there are plenty of people doing the same. At Rockdale though, I was the only one there, and the place was literally empty except for me and the guy at the service desk.
So overall, I'm not sure I would go back there again.

Hi Tones,
I have just booked my Scout in for the 15,000 service at Rockdale. Like you I have the dash squeak & they have already had two goes at fixing it. I have a couple of other problems so decided to give them another try as I bought the car there. As you say they are pleasant enough but we need solutions. I have never had a car with so many issues so early & I've had a lot of cars in my life. Its great to drive but that dash noise is distracting & extremely annoying.
