  • December Drive day for NSW/ACT owners?

Just seeing what the interest is for anyone who's interested in maybe a drive day, to get a bunch of us together, show off the cars as a group etc. I know the VW guys do it regularly here in Canberra, but was hoping we could tee up a Skoda drive day.

If your interested leave a message and maybe a suggestion on some good drives for all types?

As I said in SKODA vRS147's thread, count us in... depending on my shifts etc.

We're in St. George area of Sydney so can go north, south, west or a few k's east (without floats).

Just as an idea, a good Sydney / Newcastle drive is for the Sydney folks to come up the Old Pac to Mangrove Mountain (Where the Newcastle Folks can Meet them...) and then drive down to the Wisemans Ferry Crossing. Start the day nice and early, and the roads are clear and you can have Breakfast down there. Sydney folks can choose their own way home, Newy folks get to drive the twisties again. Its all good. (Except for the boring Freeway part for me.....)

Edit.....ooopppss.....just realised, that's not much help for Canberra folks....sorry.

Count me in everyone. As for location well I'm not really sure... Sydney (or just south) really is the centre for everyone, so I was thinking of the National Park just above Wollongong? Lovely, lovely drive! But of course, not everyone will agree with that so feel free to add a suggestion .

i'd definately take some time to come for a meet/drive.

i've done a couple of car cruises in the past - popular spots were in and around wisemans ferry; kurringai national park.

i'm regularily up in sydney atleast one a month for a weekend with my folks. so i don't mind a meet in sydney either.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll be heading down to Canberra sometime over the Christmas holidays, and will most probably be in Sydney for a few days also.
Let me know what ya's come up with and i can then confirm our plans

Count me in for a Canberra drive (depending on my hectic social calendar of course!).

Not so sure about good drives, but I enjoyed my drive from Canberra, through Bungendore, up to Tarago then Bungonia, stopping at Goulburn (for the first time since the bypass went in) for lunch and back down the Federal Highway to home. Otherwise, the only drive totally within the ACT is the Cotter - Tidbinbilla - Tharwa loop but its a bit short (or gives us more time to stop and yarn).

Kangaroo Valley is a great drive and probably somewhere in between. Sydney and Canberra.

Even better, Braidwood to Nowra. It'd do wonders for all your RSs

+1, its a great drive (if not treacherous in places). Its a long way from Sydney though.

I have driven Kangeroo Valley a lot recently going down to Nowra (for work) and i loved it in the Mitsubishi 380 (loan car).
Thats a very interesting twisty (narrow) in parts but it is sods law you meet a truck, caravan or somebody out for a leisurly Sunday drive.
It definately spoils the fun when that happens.
