  • After a couple of years, I've still got my Pzero Nero's. Other than being a bit louder, I can't see too much performance difference to the OEM Conti's and I have 50k out of them so far with about 2/3 wear. I never get more than 40k out of tyres (I think I got ~35k out of the OEMs). So 50k for me is amazeballs. For the price, they turned out to be pretty good (but a bit noisy).

Edit: I was just looking at this tyre on the tyre review site. Lots of people complaining about performance in the wet. Maybe its the Octy's setup, but I think they do pretty well in the wet (if you want to see poor performance in the wet, see my 14 year old ford ute )

    • I can recommend the conti sc5... Have them on my XR5 turbo and performance and comfort are great.

      • I had 235's on 7.5's and they were fine. Hankook Ventus V2 Concept, not a narrow tyre to begin with.
They looked a bit bulgy but performance was great.
I have 18x8's now so its really a moot point, on my car. (Ventus S1 Evo2's now)
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
        1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
        1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
        Not including hers...

Bulgy is a pretty subjective thing. If the tyre manufacturer says no and an accident happens, your insurer will be very objective in a no...

Some people are willing to take a calculated risk. I've done it myself. As long as the OP knows that he's gone outside the manufacturers specification then it shouldn't be a case of who's right.

When you see some of those stretch fitments, that's way beyond being 0.5" off the spec.
