I forgot to mention the Manual transmission wont make a difference. You can access the MFD menus by holding down one of the cruise contgrol buttons I think.

But basically you just use the phone button on the Bolero head unit and access all your phone functions through that.

Their is an answer and hangup button on the bolero screen during a call.

That is the main resason for getting one. You can control the phone via the Bolero touch screen.

I asked the installer to put it above the mirror. It is still visible but doesn't bother me.

Apparently there is an optional microphone from FISCON that you can install into the OEM spot near the sunglass holder. But the installer had no idea about that.

Got my Skoda bluetooth installed by European Autotech today. Had an issue with the coding but was resolved in the end. If you ordered your car with SatNav, it comes with the microphone already installed in the proper place. That's perfect if you want to add a Fiscon unit or something and wont need to tear the car apart just to put the microphone in it's proper place. Works well. Very happy with it.

Voice dialling works, but it is an expensive unit. Bang for buck is definitely still the Fiscon+ (You can get SMS with that one)

Got the non rSAP version, but Nokia N series will still need to download the push app to get the phonebook to be downloaded (And no call lists, so if you have a Nokia N series, be warned). No problems with iphones. Hoping to try the Nexus over the weekend

I'm not too sure, as I don't have 1, but I was reading about it on the ICE forum. Will try and find it...

Oh, reading further, the mic does not help as 1 is active and the other is passive. Sorry

                Edit: It's also listed here..

€239 ($281) from here for a genuine kit. Not that hard to install yourself or get the dealer to do it and the coding. Or someone from on here might do it for a few hundred.

Their english is a bit confusing. I have the same setup as you (RNS510, just radio buttons on the steering wheel). I had to put a new canbus gateway in my 2008 car to (hopefully) solve the battery leak issue. I got exactly that kit and it works.

When you install it take out the RNS510 and the climate controal panel and start threading the bluetooth loom through from the climate control hole (not the RNS510 hole). I took it up and behind the speedo, but there's a few ways you can get across to the right side of the car. More how to's in the ICE section.

Installed a 730J kit in my Octavia vRS the other day, very very impressed! This new model allows control of the Bluetooth streaming via the steering wheel controls, ie you can skip tracks on your phone. Track titles are also displayed on the head unit and MFD. sound quality is excellent from my Galaxy S3, I believe this is due to the latest avrcp/a2dp profile, Bluetooth streaming has come a long way from how I remember it. Note: the streaming did not work correctly at first, the track titles would come up but not play at all. Regular BT streaming would work, but not with track titles or track controls. After updating the head unit to the latest SW version it works perfectly!

Phone handling is very good too, paired via the S3 and instantly it downloaded my phone book and recent call lists properly. I still haven't coded via VCDS, so everything except for phone options in MFD work, even steering wheel controls. The phone button on the steering wheel answers and hangs up calls in its current setting, which I would like to leave as is, as I have never used voice control and never will.

As for installation, I had a few headaches. I installed the unit in its stock position under the drivers seat, and I ran the wiring loom up the transmission tunnel to the back of the Columbus unit. To facilitate this, I removed the footrest and fasteners for the carpet. Was very easy to run the wiring after this. Fitting the wiring loom behind the Columbus is a head fsck, due to the size of the quad lock connectors. In factory form, you only have one of these connectors, so it's not designed to take huge looms like this. You could probably fit them in by disassembling more of the sides of the dash, but I couldn't be arsed so I followed someone else's idea and hacksawed part of the plastic 'cage' for the Columbus away. It in no way affects the structure of the dash or any mountings, so there is no issue to do this. Afterwards, the loom fits in easily.

Getting the stock microphone to work with the bluetooth unit was a pain. I tried all sorts of things, all combinations of the connectors on the BT loom, settings etc but nothing worked. Eventually I figured out that the loom that comes with the BT unit has the pins from the stock microphone going to nowhere! As I wasn't worried about losing voice control, I re-pinned a couple of the wires in the loom and sent the microphone direct to the BT unit. Success! I'm sure with more creative wiring, I could have retained the voice control also, but as I said it wasn't a concern.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of installing one of these units. I highly recommend it, and the service from carsystems.pl. I received the unit in approx 4 days from Poland!

Once my cable arrives I will do the coding and see how it goes.

                            nice work tooch
its good to c u have full-control bt streaming.

unfortunately my bt unit doesn't show the track title, nor allow me to change tracks. i still need to physically use the phone for that.
the track title on mine always shows "BT Audio", regardless of what is playing on my phone. i've tried a iPhone 3GS, Nokia X5, Galaxy S2 & HTC One X - same result.
I had even upgraded the firmware (to 4020) on the columbus, but no change there.

no biggie in the end for me.

Yeah to be honest I wasn't really planning to use the BT streaming, as I expected it to sound crap like it used to, and thought the control would be buggy and slow. When I heard how good it sounded and how smoothly it worked it was just a huge bonus for me

I've decided to buy a 730L kit after reading of your experience.

My current Mobridge bluetooth kit is very good for phone use however when streaming audio over A2DP (after the original unit was replaced due to only mono streaming) has an annoying low frequency clicking noise evident under the music.
its not the phone as I've tried multiple phones, and my phone (HTC One X) streams audio clearly to the cheapo nav unit in my wife's car.
Control over A2DP of the tracks is a bonus, not a killer feature.
