Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
The very first weekend I had my R32 I drove with my girlfriend down to Rye. Got out, locked the car and went and bought the newspaper. Came back to the car, unlocked the boot/hatch, put the paper in with the key on top to look at something, shut the boot. Oh sh*t! Unlocking the hatch doesn't unlock the doors. Why must we find out the hard way?
This is why Volkswagen should force new owners to read the owners manual before giving them the keys!
Update on this thread. $297 for the rear quarter to be supplied and fitted. I thought that was fairly reasonable all thing considered. Certainly cheaper than have car towed etc. I know it would've been cheaper to break a "winding" window, but I had to consider security and weather proofing for the week its taken to get the replacement glass.

You know what might have been quicker and much much cheaper... Smash the windscreen.
Lots of car insurance policies give you a free windscreen replacement every year and normally they are done on the spot (or damn close to it). Not so good if your a long way from home and all... but you get the idea.
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

The windscreen is generally the cheapest piece of glass on a car (and easiest to replace) but it's also by far the hardest to break. With the laminations it's easy to crack but difficult to actually make a hole in.
