Several critical mistakes here, never ever let your significant other drive it in the early days, and keep their driving time to a minimum, and spaced apart so their memory fades when they get back into their normal car. Everytime my wife drives the RS I have to hear weeks of complaints about her car (which is not much older and perfectly fine). Mainly cause we traded in her "fun" car on the Skoda and she had my car which was more practical for her.

The only way this was all possible was I promised next car switch time, I would sell her car and she got the RS, but lately if I've even hinted at using the RS to update to the newer one and keeping hers longer, she gets cranky. The only way to resolve this is to end up with two RS's next time the lease is up.....

If mine turns up next week, I have a camping trip over the following weekend but my wife is going to Sydney for uni. Guess which car is NOT going camping! She will have a whole week of use and I'll be lucky to get a couple of commutes in.

One car family here... I've been promising the wife for 8 years that the next car will be hers to choose. I always pick them. But she's been pretty happy with the choices (which I wouldn't be if we bought... say a Mini)

HAHAHHA my lady is the same , even though she has a PUG 205 gti , she likes the rs beacuse its powerfull and effortless to drive , and she's a manual girl , try explaining TURBO'S and TORKS .

Must admit i do love to take the 205 for a spin in the hills , fun car , quick , but with a lot more gear changing .

Jeepers I must be in the lucky minority. Getting my other out of her S3 and into the VRS would be like suggesting she drive a Starfire engined Torana.
She does like the Skoda way more than my previous Land Rovers though.

I think next time, I have to go the more practical car, looking like either a Superb or the new Honda Odyssey. Its about 2 years away either way, and the interest rate I got when I bought the Skoda as a work car was a rate that will probably never be seen again, so the longer I have it the better really.

No S3 will be happening for my wife, I've seen the look on the 20 something guys at Richmond Skoda when I get my service bill and they get theirs for the S3....one young guy had to leave and go move money between accounts before he came back and paid.....lol I think there are a lot of young guys with a lot of S3s on heavy finance....

So right woofy S3 mega exp to service and a wrx kills it on the track , by the by my parteners pug is a 206gti , not a 205 , must have had my 4th pale ale when i wrote that .

I need a wagon and will certainly give thought to the superb combi in 18 months when lease expires , however probably be an all new rs by then to consider .

Not in our experience. The last service was only a couple of hundred dollars, way cheaper than any BMW service for the last 10 years or so.

Back on track...

I ordered my Octavia RS on 24 December (yes, yes, I knew there would be delays due to Christmas and New Year). At that time, the estimated delivery date was 15 April.

Actual delivery date was 28 April (ie. today!!).

Its a great call to get and relief that you don't have to wait long.

I ordered mine of the 15th Dec, arrived at the dealer 20th April, registered today and pickup friday!

Still waiting for mine. Ordered on November 11th, still waiting for the dealer to get it. Hoping to pick it up Friday or Saturday, but more than likely Monday Still they loaned me a Scout and that was fun to drive around in...

I had ordered mine on Nov 9th, am on my way right now to pick up mine! Actually examined it yesterday when I had gone to trade my old car with the dealer, and the truck was just delivering it!
Whoohoo looking forward to it! Just looking at the car made me forget all the wait.

Dodgey, did you order yours with a lot of options? especially xenons? I was told by my dealer that a lot of Dec ordered cars (with no or hardly any options) came in earlier, but some Nov ones with speciific options like xenons.

Yes, mine is similar to yours. +leather, front park, satnav. The dealer already told me that it was delayed, and Dec cars that were not special ordered (with the options that the dealer hadn't ordered) had "jumped" the queue.

Didn't matter to me too much the timing, until now. Expectation is still Saturday pickup or next week for me.

Mine has finally shown up on the Wilhelmson site. It is on the Asian Dynasty, due 2nd June.

Same here -- Octavia Wagon with Leather and DSG, on Asian Dynasty. Ordered Feb 28, built April 12. I think that means it's on track for the scheduled delivery date of June 26.
