Finally, after close to 4 months from order date (1 week shy of anyway), my FL vRS Black Magic wagon was delivered - Woohooooo!

I went the petrol in manual with no other options. Or so I thought until I opened the door and discovered that I scored full leather. Don't know if they just threw it in, Skoda boys in Czech Republic mixed things up a bit or I've got some poor other bugger's order, but a nice bonus all the same.

And kudos to the dealer in Penrith who after a little bit of negotiation, offered me the accessories deal. Despite me having ordered the car 1+ month prior to the deal being advertised and also going through a broker.

The one sore point ... came with the Conti SportContact 2 tyres. Never liked Contis whether car or on my road bike. From reports here & Briskoda, these aren't going to impress much.

Anyway, gotta go run it in a bit more! Booked in for a tint tomorrow and hopefully some coolish weather on the weekend while it gets detailed.

Congrats , got same black, pre fl manual wagoon with roof and with conti's , bummer no leather , thats a big bonus .

Ive done 12 k and cant say i have a problem with tyres , and i dont hang around specially on B roads , a touch noisy in back but thats lack of sound deadening over rears, not the tyres , also wearing very well , huge cost to replace , face that one down the track .

This car grows on you , still get a buzz everyday , love the space in back , and the mota is freed up nicely now , great urge .

      Any way enjoy the moment

I'd say you got someone elses order that was cancelled, but coming sooner. Or you got a demo that had been sitting, but not driven yet.

Done a bit more digging now, and delivered VIN matches what dealer told me in Dec. So, at some point between me ordering and dealer placing order, they've specced leather.

Congrats mate. I've just signed up with Penrith Skoda too. Good to see the Penrith dealer was helpful by giving you unspecified leather. I hope my leather doesn't turn into the standard seats

They can't give me a date of delivery at the moment. I'm told '3-4 months' which is not enthusing. Did you have a similar experience?

Well the car is nice and clean now but would rather wait till windows tinted.
I have only driven 13 kms home from the dealer in awful peak hour traffic and I am struggling to fault the thing. Better than I remembered

I got the standard '3 month wait' line that everyone seems to get with a factory order.

Didn't really keep in touch with the broker until the 3 month point, when they said it was expected in another 2 weeks.

At that point, I was getting antsy to get to the car, so got in touch with the dealer and they kept me in the loop (car stuck on Melb dock waiting to be cleared). Another 2 weeks later, delivery day!

I read somewhere that Skoda are moving the Octavia production line in a few months, so this may impact production timeframes. Found it again ... http://www.cbw.cz/article/skoda-plan...on-shifts.aspx

I'm not the most patient person in the world, but its well worth the wait ! What spec did you end up choosing?

I was given a standard 4 month wait. Apparently, the dealer once told someone 3 months and dead on 12 weeks she rang to complain that her car turned up. So his thinking now is that he will tell me 4 months, and then if it turns up earlier I will be happy.

15th of April is the magic day.

I must be mr lucky , after couple of months of research , wanted a black wagon with hole in roof , just walked into dealer , sitting on floor arrived 2 weeks ealier , tint already done , bang , had it in 4 days .

I admire you folks and your patience , still it is worth the wait, great drive .

The rs must be their biggest seller .

I had the same thing Spellbound, I got front sensors to boot which I wouldn't have got, but they were in it, and didn't cost anymore. I've never bought anything off the floor but I was the first to drive it, took it from 8km to 24, bought it, took note of the kms and picked it up 3 days later. They put it out the back for me, and I got it without another km on it.

I'll probably see you cruzin around Macleod. I'm in Heidelberg so there will be 2 anthracite wagons with tint

I'm in two minds on whether to go 19's or paint the factory 18's, then I'll get some piccies...

Actually, the wait is perfect. I'm out of the country until 28 Feb (sitting at Heathrow right now), so (1) I have something to look forward to (2) the car didn't arrive during my absence - my wife wouldn't appreciate it as much as me and (3) I have time to get all of the paperwork together for salary packaging.

I'm reasonably patient this time and quite happy with the purchase after 4 seprate test drives. Although unfortunately, they'll revalue the trade-in and there will more than likely be a fight when they try to knock a grand or two off it.

I've ordered a Race Blue DSG TSI Wagon. The only option is leather. I was thinking about bluetooth, but after reading through the forums, the aftermarket option is only $150ish more and by accounts the one to get. However, I don't have it now, so I don't know what I'm missing!

By the sounds of things, there's a bit of pot luck in terms of options. So I might luck out and get something extra!

It'd be interesting to know how many people option the RS up?

(edit: it just occured to me that wagon and DSG are technically options )
