I took this picture in front of a new modern home in a display village.
I like the look of the car in front of a cool house.....

Its in Slovakian or Czech (don't speak either so I don't know) but get some good vision of the MkIII.

I especially like the guy employed to turn the turntable that the car is on...simply clever! If it were an Audi or VW launch no doubt it would have had a motorized turntable that would have cost as much Skoda's yearly marketting budget

The Yeti isn't my FAVOURITE of the SUV's and 4WD's (that title is taken by the Defender ) but that angle... Oh bloody hell!!!!!!

Big fan. I think they've done almost everything right here without messing with the existing formula too much. With the increase in size it does make the side profile look more like the current Superb combi with the arching roofline but if was in the market for a new car in the next 6 months this would be in the short list for sure.

Side by side I think selling the Superb would be very difficuilt with all the features of the new Octavia.

Had some time between jobs today, so instead of taking Mt Ousley from Campbelltown to Wollongong, I went up the M5 and down through the National Park.
Took some pics near Seacliff Bridge.





I must say, looks good without the P-Plate. :p

Hey mate,

I hope you know those thick antenna do nothing for you radio range. Your just as well off with those thin wire antenna as you'll get better fuel economy because they catch much less wind and they don't wave around in you vision. Adding an artificial ground plane under the wire antenna will extend your range too.

And if those 2 antenna on the window are both mobile phone, I hope you know how this changes the radio pattern. If they are hooked up together, they will extend your range forward and back but reduce it on the sides so while your pointing toward a tower, it'll work better but if your driving and turn, it'll work less.

I'm looking at replacing the white (950MHz) one with a glass mount and the black (420-480MHz) with a little wire one.
I had an elevated feed before, but really don't like the look of them. Eventually going to put something together with a little 2dB whip for around town stuff, nice and neat and small. Probably get something a little longer for the long highway cruising.

One is work phone (ZTE), the other is a WiFi access point - again for work. The AP is also hooked up to a little hidden glass mount on the rear 3/4 window.

Maybe we need a seperate thread for antenna discussion. The glass mount will be really bad for reception. You loose too much through the glass. A good whip is all you need. Antenna design is worth so much more than transmission power. I use a Yagi antenna to pick up 0.2w UHF signal over 5km. I just love it how some westies and there B&S utes with all the big white antennas cant reach 2.5km with 5w transmission.

Yagi would be a silly idea for a motor vehicle though. For a car I like a good 6dB. 9dB is just a little too flat, especially around the East coast of Australia. 3dB is more for really hilly or big buildings but 6dB is good all round.

Those thick white antenna are good on base stations where you have cockaoos chewing on them but not on cars. They are good for their ridgitity but then people put springs on the bottom.

Thin whip is good in cars because they catch less wind. Centre of the roof is best, then gutter followed by bonnet.
