Went down to my local Super Cheap Auto's today, to see what they had in the range of UHF whips. Just in case I ever need a replacement.
They have 3 types in store. Two are the same length, just different brands, and another one is about 1m long.
So, anyways, I ask the clerk if I can take it out of its packaging and attach it to the car, if it'll fit.
This is what it looks like.


... Perhaps a tad long, I think. Although, would be perfect for sitting in the middle of the highway, on the phone...
This is a whip I found in the garage - I think it was my dad's, back in the days of 27MHz AM CB and before mobile phones.
Either way, its a horrible mid-80's brown interior colour. You know the type. Like the cream interior, from yesteryear.
