    4. MkVII Ris not released in this country yet, I have not driven it, but am aware it is the same platform with same tune as the bv S3.
    5. All great cars, all fun to drive, I like the S3 the most so far.
    6. I am not leasing the car, but have no plans to modify
Thanks for coming back and clarifying

I really didn't think it was that difficult to understand lol

Glad you enjoy your S3, mine is on order so won't be too long now and can't wait! Like you, I am coming from a GTI, though a MKV, and almost pulled the trigger on a MK6 R last year but glad I didn't now

Anyway, keep us posted with the thoughts on the new car!

Finally pulled the trigger, put an order in for an S3 sedan (MY15 build) just now.

      specific specs:

      S3 sedan
      Sepang Blue
      S Performance Pack 2 (5 spoke V)
      Driver Assist Package
      Folding Mirrors
      Privacy Glass
      Tinted Windows

Now the long, long wait begins, don't expect delivery until at least August/September.

Wow, looks like you'll be one of the first in Australia to get the S3 Sedan. Have you got your VIN number so you can track the boat?

Just notice you're from the ACT also, so did you buy it from Audi Centre Canberra?

Yep, In Phillip. Ordered around August last year for the Sedan, when they were taking preorders for the hatch

              did you order one too?

                Hi all,
I took possession of my Estoril blue sportback with perf pack at the end of Jan and have enjoyed a fantastic first 2 months of motoring in this amazing vehicle. I however have one gripe that has been bothering me and it relates to the stop/start fuel saving feature. As yet I have been unable to determine a more convenient solution to disabling the feature other than manually disabling it every time I start the engine. Maybe it's just me but surely a prestige european sports car must have another option?? The feature is very intrusive and its really starting to annoy me to have to turn it off every time I use the car. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and yes I have checked the manual.

^ you can permanently turn off the stop-start system in the Mk7 Golf's - no doubt you can do the same in the A3/S3's too.

                  You need someone with VCDS.

At least it's not as bad as having to disengage the parking brake every time we start that car :jk:

I am just asking myself the same question. Test drove the GTI DSG on Thursday, haven't driven the S3. Lots of good information on this thread. The 6 month wait for an S3 sucks a bit.

Yes, put the order in first week of Feb, still waiting on a build date as we went Sepang Blue.

Is your car on the ship that will be docking on the 20th of April? As ACC said they have a misano red S3 sedan fully loaded on that boat, it will be their demo car, and there are a few customer cars on board too, which they hope will be delivered by 2nd week in May, so the wait for you is nearly over?

I know this will be a contentious issue but does anyone know if you'll be able to put a towbar on one of these?

My dad is keen on them but as with the golf R, there is always the issue of not being able to tow our tinny if he gets one. We love the concept of a hot hatch but the whole idea of them is that they are practical yet exhilarating daily cars! So why not chuck a tow bar on it for the odd job?

If anyone has advice that would be greatly appreciated because unless he can get a tow bar on it then the 8V S3 isn't an option

Dumb question surely you don't buy one if these to tow on a regular basis?

I personally don't think it was that dumb of a question. Maybe you wouldn't, but he would like to tow small boats every now and then. Not a very far distance but it needs to be an option.

Here is the old 8P towing.
