Hi I am new to this web community and VW as I have purchased a 2007 VW Golf TDI 1.9l Comfortline V. I am based in Dubbo central NSW and the golf is a nice addition to the garage sitting next to the BMW R1150GSA.

My question is "How do I stop the driver's seat belt from posting a seatbelt warning signal all the time, even when the belt is latched it sends a warning signal light and sound which is beginning to wear thin. Is there a simple fix? to do with the attachment point or do I need to replace the stem holding the attachment point?
Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise the car is a little beauty, just loving the torque and handling.

To state the obvious, it sounds like either the wire that tells the computer the belt is plugged in is broken or the microswitch in the belt latch.

My approach would be to inspect the latch part and find the wiring coming off it (and if there is anything unplugged).

On the assumption it's a simple on/off switch you might be able to bridge one of the connectors (so it thinks there is always a belt plugged in).. otherwise it might be a trip to the wreckers to fix.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
