  • How to extend the music player ON-TIME when ignition is off

When we go camping in our VW Passat, 2018 wagon, we settle in for the night in the back, and sometimes listen to a film score. If the ignition is left on, outside lights stay on, so I turn the ignition off to ensure the battery doesn't drain as much. The sound stays on – but only for about 30 minutes....

    Faulty windscreen wipers

Hi folks, I’m having problems with the windshield wipers on my 2023 Tiguan 147tdi, which has only done 15k so it’s still under warranty. They come on intermittently on clear sunny days on a regular basis when driving. I make sure the windscreen is clean so it’s not as a result of dirt, etc. I...

    Alternate Jack point mounts

So spent the better part of the day rotating wheels, installing front & rear mudflaps on the Golf. But the main reason for the work was installing the alternate front & rear jack point mounts. Now it will be easier to lift the car to use jack stands. Or you can use this method to get a golf...

    Boost gauge tap off point

Ok, I have searched everywhere and have no definite answer to the recommended tap point for the boost gauge line to the engine. I have seen from the manifold, off fuel regulator, off n249, and people also say never use the fuel regulator line….
would love a description or image of correct...

Remove mudguard screws. They are a 6 point.

The front mounting hole needs to be redrilled. 293mm centres. Measure from bolt hole nearest windscreen.
Check brackets for alignment. Do not tighten.

    The lifting...

  • Skooties, new Superb dubber

Hey everyone! New forum user here. I'm the very happy owner of a MY16 Superb 206TSI liftback in white. Currently, she's stock. But I do have some questions:

Who's the best, or at least a very good, non-dealer mechanic to get her serviced at in the Ferntree Gully area (happy to drive to...

    DSG Clutch Troubleshooting

I have a 2013 103TSI, 7 speed dry clutch with 60k km on the clock.

I have noticed the box selects gears that are too high for the travelling speed which lugs the engine and shakes the car, especially when climbing hills.

The box doesn't seem to know where the friction point...

    Waterpump / thermostat question Mk7 vs MK7.5

I've just had my Mk7 R serviced. It had a coolant leak and the dealer said it was a leaking thermostat, which had to be replaced at a not inconsiderable cost pf parts and labour.

Reading here and elsewhere, coolant leaks due to the failure of these components are fairly common, and that...

    Hi guys,

May have the opportunity to buy my old Satin Silver Corrado VR6 back which had to be sold when we moved to Australia in 2016.

    VW Sevice

OK, I bit the bullet and booked the new old Golf in for a factory VW service and rego check (I know... $$$ but I figured the car hasn’t seen a dealer for the last 100k according to service record and I definitely do not know what the car has missed out on in the past).

    Bonus: 3 out...

Ive been around my engine bay for a point where I can get a low vacuum.

On the air box is a nipple which would be ideal but the pipe goes to the "suction Jet pump" which is part of the brake booster vacuum circuit.
