Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

G'day folks thought I would sign up to the forum to get some info on some old VW waterpumpers. Having owned a couple of Mk1 Golfs back in my earlier days - an 1100C then a GTI - absolutely great car. Then from there a 16V Mk II Jetta GTI. I moved over to Oz a good few years back and have now ended up driving a VW T3/T25 double cab ute. Which is more of our weekend and camping car . My daily ride to work is a motorbike, while the Mrs drives a Subaru. However, we are thinking of possibly buying something more interesting like an older VW as our daily drive. So I believe that this might the place to be to help us with our quest.

    Welcome to the forum

The MK2 Golf makes for a great daily driver if you don't mind the occasional tinkering.

If you're a bit masochistic go for the MK1 and damn what the kids say about the rough ride.

    Cheers

    Paul
