Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Newly bought mk7 GTI PP

Hi all, glad to be here so after debating and researching for over a month between a FoST 2013 and a GTI, I went with what was advertised as a 2015,MY15 PP gti, 150klms,i thought was a pretty good deal, tuned to stage 2 also, which was gonna save some money... Anyway, after getting it home, the next morning, I checked the build plate, and it's actually a 11/14!
Now I know it's still technically a MY15? But should I be pissed and possibly asking for money back, or is there really no difference?

I think that's normal in advertising these cars, I see it all the time.

Congratulations otherwise and as long as like the car then I wouldn't worry about it.

There's no difference and nothing to be pissed about - MY = Model Year, not the year of manufacture. They haven't falsely represented anything, unless they specifically said it was built in 2015.

Ah yes, I missed that bit in your first post. My bad!

Nonetheless - I wouldn't be particularly worried if I were in your shoes. If you hare happy with the condition of the car and the price you paid, the difference in build date is of minor concern.

Ok, yeah, this is true... I was just concerned that alot of the upgrades I wanted to do, were for 2015+,so was just hoping that wasn't going to affect me at all
