Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Picked up my new car yesterday - 2020 Golf R 7.5

    Hi all,

Just sold my 2014 Megane RS265 and replaced it with a 2020 Golf R Mk7.5.

Looking forward to getting through the running-in period so I can have some fun with it!

Keen to see what I can learn from you all.

    Cheers,

    Sarah

Nice Sarah, congrats on the new car. Make sure you have some fun with it during the running in period, you need to put the engine under load to bed those piston rings in nicely. No need to redline the engine, but floor it and make it work. Especially important in the first 100-200km.

Nothing worse than babying a brand new engine, especially a high performance turbocharged engine.

The current R is a great car - you will love it.

Thanks Lucas, I’ve stayed out of the redline but certainly can’t resist the urge to push it a little!

      I already love it!
