Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW B116229 Selector lever park position lock switch - Implausible signal Error

    Hi All,

My VW Golf MY16 Comfortline Mk7 is showing the below error.
Has anyone else had this error and fixed it.
The car in not under warranty and would like to know how serious is this and the cost for fixing this.
Would really appreciate if you could assist.

    Cheers

I think that's a pretty common fault. In most cases it seems pretty transient. It's an issue with the selector mechanism I believe.
Clear the fault and if it doesn't cause any issues with the selector not detecting the lock position correctly then just continue on.
If it keeps returning or stops the car from being able to be moved off then you might have to look at replacing the selector assembly.
