Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yes that's the last of the 6 cylinder 3 litre turbo S60's. New model coming has a tuned up 4 cylinder. No more 5 or 6 cylinder cars as they can't meet the tighter emissions and fuel economy requirements.

Got a low number, lower than I should have, that's all. An R36 should get 170+ given it's flywheel numbers and what the lower powered Golf's get, I got 131 at first then my last run was 146 due to a single spike towards the top end so weird behaviour. But the car still pulls 0-100 in 5.5 seconds in launch control so it is not actually down on performance. We thought maybe TCL not fully disengaged or Haldex doing weird stuff or whatever but at the end of the day as long as the real world performance is as high as expected, not playing nice with a dyno doesn't really mean anything. If you're not doing before/after comparisons then dyno numbers are just cool to tell your friends and my dyno numbers are uncool.

On a positive note, he sent me a screenshot of the torque at the axles and the split percentage when I asked as well, which was pretty cool. The front torque graph is pretty bumpy compared to the rear which might contribute to the weird power figure, but the cool takeaway is that the HPA Motorsports Race Haldex is doing its job, the torque split is showing 50/50. It actually shows more bias to the rear but that would just be the dyno being out by approx 10%. Without the HPA controller you would expect to see maybe 30% to the rear max on this dyno.

I only had the camera out for a short while, should have taken more snaps. Anyways here are a couple of the cars from the day...
