yep 2 judging bays for aircooled two for watercooled.

I think all the watercooled guys got there before alot of the airclooled guys!

We had a great turnout so it can only help our cause.

I personally do not think the entry is a problem. It was just the lack of space, squeezing cars in and out.

May I suggest a couple of things for next year...

        1) Please pre register - or at least print out and take a filled in form with you to the gate.
        2) Watercooled cars did not need to be scrutineered for category - so why did we have to queue and wait for the aircooled! They should have waved all the watercooled through that 1st gate. The person taking our entry into the show could have directed aircooled to the left side of the road water cooled down the right.
        3) Maybe next time post some Show and Shine Etiquette/tips for us Noobies. Explain briefly the meaning of Standard and Modified.... eg you cannot enter Standard AND Modified in the same class!

I also just have to say this... Seeing soooo much RUST on the aircooled cars is so depressing!
Im think I should take a Valium now

whats the point in standard and modified categories... just have one category for each mark. put the "standard" ones up with the "modified" ones. almost everyone has a few little mods.

but yes good to see so many watercoolers thanks everyone for organising

All in all I think it was a great result. I had a chance to chat with the club VW guys after and they were very open to the fact that we came out in forces this year and it wasn't expected so much. It was basicly a 50% mix (plus or minus 3 or 4 cars).

We discussed what seemed to be a smarter way to do it for next year. That would be to have the aircooled start filling from one side, and we could start filling on the other side so we have a more equal amount of space. With that put into practice we could also take advantage of having our own entrance. But we have a whole year to perfect some more on this year.

Matt, Aaron, Brenton and Dom - top jobs! Well done for a very successful event.

Dom and Brenton, it was nice to be able to put a face to your names and congrats on doing a great job with what you were handed. It was far from easy but I think you both have some very valuable feedback that will only better it for next year.

I ended up with 1st for standard Mk4 Not too sure how that happened, as both 1st and second were modified.

I think we need different coloured stickers for modified or standard, to give the judges a clue.

I will be talking to club veedub soon and We want our own area next year.

This is what we were promised this year, but that got lost in translation into one long line

I might have to go up the day before next year with my own chalk and make sure its done right.

Some questionable judging, I would have put Carl as best Mk2 then John, static you should have been in standard.

And where was the prize for my Mk1? thats it I`m never coming again....

Or maybe I should just bring the rocco and win best out of a category of 1

Nice to see the Vic Posse making the effort and put some faces to names. Good one guys, expect a visit for DOVW.

Good effort and I also have to say the part on ClubVW was a joke! WTF with Neils winning standard, Shami winning second, well thats mostly his fault causer he entered in Standard and his car is far from it and he knows it lol. People going up and not even getting awards was wrong. I think that pretty much all the catergories were judged fairly obviously mk4 being the most hot contention of cars there, I think that it was a close race all the way in. IMO Points would have been awarded for and against those cars winning certain divisions.

We kicked around for until 6 when we had to use car lights so exposure shots that was tops hahaha. Great to meet everyone and see you Melbourne guys for DOVW this year finished or unfinished I am returning that favour, oh and Tim you owe me a couple of cokes or vodkas

I'm pretty stoked that I got 1st in Modified Mk3. If I want to back that up next year I might have to pay another woman to reverse in to Steve though
