i was thinking of coming along for a watch but it's just so far to drive for that, and i just don't have the cash together to participate with my South Africa trip coming up soon .

i'm hoping someone will be there well equipped with a video camera for some good footage. someone should fit one to their car!!

Dont know about a 1.05 - I've done a 1.13.9 in the polo - and a 1.12.9 in the Golf GTI (before it had a little more power). A good GT3 on slicks will do a 1.07

My Cayman S has now done a 1.13.1 - so I think a lower 1.12 would be good going (remember - it is "driver training"!).

i did the old whereis.com.au trick to find out how long it will take and it says 2rs 23mins (from the goldy you have to head north and take the beenleigh exit so the distance is about the same for brissy/GC). i thought the 1hr 13min drive to QR was long enough so i don't think i'll be there....especially not just to watch in envy .

You will have to check with SDT - generally if its a paid up participant yes (as the waivers are all signed etc), but a general spectator - probably with your self, I'd say no.

She could probably go out with one of the Authorised instructors though!
