      Just PMd you Damien.

Sorry to be a nuisance but can you also give me some info. on the FAR numbers (at peak power) for other cars on the day?

I have done some research and 12:1 OK but 11.5:1 seems too low even for a turbo with extra boost.

Do you know what the max RPM your car (and the other Polo GTI) ran to?

I need this info to get the new curves plotted.

Also on AFR 12's seem to around what APR runs at. I previously had Viezu and they ran around 11's so a bit richer but definitely safe.

Each tuner will do something different but the twin charger people are generally more conservative.

PM'd you again - please ignore.

Thanks Damien but ABT Germany just sent me a heap of technical jargon and questions including an ABT Polo GTI uncorrected data dyno chart - I need to speak to the dyno operator anyway so please do not waste any more time on my data.

Anyone else after an updated dyno chart with RPM instead of km/hr? plus "derived" torque figures.

Just PM me your max RPM and email address and I'll arrange to send it through.

If we get a few done I may even update the torque figures with the "proper" numbers.

Are you talking the max rpm as per the manual or do we need to flog the car and hope the rpm gauge is right? Damn I wish I had a vcds type program form the bimmer!

Just what maximum revs (approx) they ran to on the dyno.

I changed my mind again! I have probably confused you but if you can manage it I would like an updated chart with RPM thank you.

Max revs was I assume 7,000. I did a 'test' today and at a steady 100km/hour in 4th gear the tacho. is showing only 4250rpm.

From interpolation max. power was therefore 118.9kW(quoted) at less than 4,500rpm (quoted at 102km/h on chart)- very pleased with that. Could have been a very good number if the gremlins hadn't stopped it rising.

Did what Gavin of Custom Code (thanks again for referring him to me for advice, hell of a nice fella) suggested I do and accelerated hard in 4th gear, from about 3000rpm to red line, and it pulled like a train without any apparent drop in acceleration rate. What a difference normal air flow through the front of the car can make!

No problem I'll get those charts sorted. And yes unless you're logging just about every engine parameter it can be hard to work out what is going on. You may end up chasing your tail for a non-existent problem.

The real test is on the road and how the car drives both everyday in city traffic as well as when you give it a few beans in the hills/open road.

Whenever there's enough people to run one!

Also because most of us run turbo cars I've tried to organise these in the cooler months to give the best results.

Often the workshop is booked up a month or 2 in advance too on a Saturday - particularly through the middle of the year. So you do have to plan ahead a bit.

If there's enough interest we could probably do something early in the new year, however I'd probably hang off until April/May so we can (hopefully) guarantee some cooler weather.

You can take your car there and get a dyno run done, however benchmarking with other similar modded cars is always a useful thing to do.
