Dylan, do you think you should've let Al get in front of you at some point? I wasn't there, but this is sounding like a repeat of last round. Is it an Audi thing?
There's nothing wrong with taking turns leading.

I think your "whinge" is entirely valid so not a whinge at all IMO. It was as I suspected from 6+ cars back. It also makes it near impossible for cars behind you to get past to try decongest the track. I had no chance to get through that traffic so had to slow for a couple of laps.
Irrespective of the car, this style of driving isn't as per etiquette.
Yep, bloody jap crap. Thought this was a Euro event? Did see some frustrated overtaking starting top creep in by a few people. Possibly even myself included. Backing off is the best way to have the whole track to yourself. Something I must remember more myself!
Eggy, the oversteer coming out of Karousel actually looked fun and it was well-controlled. More of those and you won't panic in the least.
Don't worry about getting angry or whinging. That's what driving's about. Ever heard of road rage? Emotions run high. Especially when someone's driving erratically or unpredictably in front of you. I'm sure a bit of education will set things right.
Best advice Benny! Did you mean 'education' as in smack the stupid idiot around the side of the head and tell him to %^* off?
Here are my on-board videos. I had some lift-off oversteer in 11:04, fun in wet - not so when it's dry.
Part1/2 on-board
Part 2/2 on-board. Here you will see from 6:00 onwards, I'm behind the car, especially apex and exiting the corner (I had to brake again exiting the corner at times losing turbo spool then)...I attempted an overtake at 6:10 and almost nudged ahead on the straight until he put his foot down...Gave up after 3-4 laps to let the others behind me get past and so hopefully I could get out of the traffic. I also backed down a little as I think I started to become angry, and after all this is happy laps .
Well if he was really pushing it that makes me feel a bit better. I certainly wasn't-I was kind of gingerly flailing around.
Thanks Clay for another great morning.
Believe me when I tell u, I wasn't pushing it. It's HL not Time Attack. With all due respect, your lines weren't great and anyone can boot it down the straight but eventually (unlike some) you allowed the car that was faster to pass. Lakeside is all about the lines and would recommend you and anyone that wants to improve their driving to watch Machines video thats been posted a few times.

Last round? What do you mean? Anyway, I didn't need to. He is faster and more skilled than me, and passed me a few rounds from the end.
You posted at the same time I did. I was never under any illusion that you were slower than me. I fanged it up the straight a couple of times just to get an idea of how our straight line speeds compared (judging by the 1/4 you told me, they shouldn't be all that different). After that I was more than happy to let you put me in your rear-view
I wasn't really thinking about lines in any way shape or form. First time on the track in an unfamiliar car-I was really just trying to get a sense of how it pulls in each gear and where the limits of grip were.

Fair enough, please don't take my comments the wrong way, I understand. HL is a great opportunity to do that. It's just important to have etiquette and be safe. Next time maybe think about your lines mate, just sayin.

My bad. If someone gains on you and you stay in front on the straight once or twice, but then give way the next lap, that's fine. Sounds like that's what you did.
"Last round" was a reference to last happy laps.

If you want the full res version just click on the cog at the top right of the picture (note, this was taken by my point and shoot so don't expect super crisp downshift style photos haha)
ooh nice pics for point and shoot. Fanks for shooting my Fabia. Loved the Audi presence. Big fan of the RS4 and R8. Shame nurses don't make that kind of money

I am trying to shortlist who was in the Supra. What he did to The_Egg was inconsiderate and his lines were awful and took the straight like a 1/4 mile. Just inconsiderate and disrespectful to existing Happy Lappers. I think he was a mature person though or rather old, but still being old or full of testosterone doesn't give high level of self entitlement to ignore other drivers on track.
What he did caused some frustations to others in a VAG car and should be banned!
We should really put down the car type again for the next one.
I am having this open to forum contributors and you can invite a family member in their car (no friends this time sorry) if they are in a Euro car as well.
Anyone can come and passenger with you.
also, we should get Lakeside (QR Ipswich does it) to issue wrist band for the driver when paying would be a good idea to stop any possible intruders.
It's so easy for someone not listed to slip into the track without confirmed by Clay imo from an audit point of view.
