Nope, didn't see you at all. I'd caught the group with the supra, RS, lotus, et all, you must have been in front of that group. Dang. If the sound of the RS4 is anything to go by, pity I didn't get to witness the R8.

How'd you find the R8 on the track?

Off topic, but do you/did you hang around Broadbeach on the Gold Coast ? I lived there for the first half of the year and saw a black R8 with black/white personalised plates going around near Oasis shopping centre and the two new Oracle buildings.

Not likely to be me-don't get down the coast much.
I found it very planted-a little less shove on the straight than the '55, but far easier to hold speed through the corners. I broke it loose a couple of times.

I saw you break loose a few times, i have a video of the whole thing although not the best quality as i held my gopro.. I was in the Black MK6 GTI with Alan. I will upload an unedited version later on.

I dont think you can see it with my video, i should've recorded in 1080p at 30 fps rather than 720p at 60fps. Forgot to change it from Fridays go-karting session. Hey maybe it would be cool if we all went go-karting one day?

Part 2/2 on-board. Here you will see from 6:00 onwards, I'm behind the car, especially apex and exiting the corner (I had to brake again exiting the corner at times losing turbo spool then)...I attempted an overtake at 6:10 and almost nudged ahead on the straight until he put his foot down...Gave up after 3-4 laps to let the others behind me get past and so hopefully I could get out of the traffic. I also backed down a little as I think I started to become angry, and after all this is happy laps .

I probably whinged a bit here :L

Eggy, the oversteer coming out of Karousel actually looked fun and it was well-controlled. More of those and you won't panic in the least.
Don't worry about getting angry or whinging. That's what driving's about. Ever heard of road rage? Emotions run high. Especially when someone's driving erratically or unpredictably in front of you. I'm sure a bit of education will set things right.

I think your "whinge" is entirely valid so not a whinge at all IMO. It was as I suspected from 6+ cars back. It also makes it near impossible for cars behind you to get past to try decongest the track. I had no chance to get through that traffic so had to slow for a couple of laps.

Irrespective of the car, this style of driving isn't as per etiquette.

Yeah, he tried that on me the first time I was behind him on the straight. He tried it again the second time, and he still would have blocked me if I hadn't had enough power to pass him.
On a separate note: first vid, 7:55...lol, Alan was on my butt like a dingleberry the whole time! Just no shaking that thing.
