Lakeside Laps V18 - 4 August 2013

^^ A certain driver (not you Sean lol) did this when I was up his backside around the back of the track for about 3-4 laps, after which I just gave up trying to overtake him and drove like a grandma down the straight to let the TT and red Polo GTI past and deal with the car that was blocking me. I didn't see him stay very long after the laps...hmmmm

I just don't have enough power to overtake some cars on the straight so sticking over to the left and slowing down a little (ie not going full out) down the straight would be good.

The silver mk5 golf GTI did a commendable effort using the right etiquette which was great.

Will have footage from today - both GoPro and from Dad spectating - uploaded later on.

Also what was up with all the smoke coming from the black mk6 GTI ?????

Well everyone played nice which was good to see.
I will have to get a bit more info from them on the difference between hot laps and happy laps and the costs involved etc.
Will have some pictures up soon and some video up on Monday from the in-car gopro.


Just so everyone is aware they do have general practice sessions every few weeks for $80 which might be worth a look if you want to push the limit.

Turns out there's a rego notice sitting at my old place that my old house mates didn't tell me about, so my rego expired a couple weeks ago, which was a real surprise! Thought I had a few more months.

Hmmmm...no rego sticker on your car? Mine tells me when it's going to expire. Not literally, I actually have to look at it

Thank you Clay for orginising such a great morning...My first time out was a positive experience.

I (The Silver GTI Mk5) did try to stick to the rules and show the more experienced drivers and more powerful cars the correct respect and etiquette. I'm happy that I did the right thing and someone noticed...thanks Egg. Next time I don't think I'll be a "Bus".

Your all such great blokes and I can't wait to see you all again.

Big Props to Sean, Al, Tim, Anthony and Don for the convo and hospitality to a new comer.

Who actually checks the expiry date in the moment though? I just unwrap it, slide on in, have some fun and hope nothing breaks!

Yes it was a little clogged but once you realise the other half of the track is empty it's all good, slow down and enjoy a lap or two on your own.

Was great to meet and see some new faces, hopefully more in the future!
