Our next cruise is in a couple of weeks, on April 6. Any suggestions, anyone? Do we want a longer or shorter run this time?

Hopefully I can make it, will be dependent on delivery.

I'm easy on length, although would be taking it fairly leisurely as I'll be in 'run-in' mode.. so if the Audi is present I'll need to be looking for short cuts.

A couple of suggestions assuming we start at Stonyfell which I think is a pretty good/central place for everyone (comments??):

Longer northern route: Stonyfell to Tanunda

Shorter southern route: Stonyfell to Clarendon

Feedback or suggestions??

I'm sure the weather will be fine.

I think Stoneyfell is a great meeting point, and the Tanunda route looks pretty good to me. We could alternatively do a Victor or McLaren Vale/Yankallila cruise, as we've not been down that way yet.

OK I've devised another southern route - especially for VW enthusiasts...

Yankalilla to Mount Baker via Willunga and Meadows

I know it's a bit of a drive to the start location but it can't be helped otherwise it doesn't have the same effect.

At some stage it's just gotta be done.

I know those roads very well, travelled around there a lot. Therefore I'll beg and suggest we defer this one until the June (?) cruise.. as I just found out I am a month away from getting the car.

Hmm, okay Dutch, how about we do a mini Southern cruise this time, and an extended one (as per Damien's suggestion) for June? You can just suck it up and come along in the Polo for this one - or even *gasp* the CX-5.

What about Stoneyfell -> Blackwood -> Clarendon -> Meadows -> Willunga -> Finish (for lunch) in McLaren Vale?

Not sure if you guys got my "VW" cruise route from Yankalilla to Mount Barker. You actually had to look at the link on Google maps:




Not sure as to the practicalities of doing this one but it would be one to tick off the bucket list

Adam: it'll be the CX5 if you guys play nice.. after an incident with my GTI a couple of days out from trade I shouldn't risk the Polo on a country drive.

Tigger: clever mate, I didn't twig and I had even looked it up. I might use that route as part of my run-in routine end of April/early May.
