Count me in. I live on the Sunny Coast and the drive is no deterrent for me at least. The more happy laps the more fun.

Would also like to be part of this. Ill be doing some sprints/time attacks this year, tho these events are less aggressive on the car and much safer than a blast down the streets. Can't remember the last time I've bothered to have a fun drive in the mountains with these events available and regular.

I'd be interested. Although I am definitely in the "less serious" camp, as my GTI is my daily drive/company car. Brakes and tyres are too expensive to be replacing all the time.

I'm more than happy to let more enthusiastic drivers in faster cars go past me on the straight. But on the other side of the coin it is happy laps and if people want to sit half a car length behind me through the corners they can forget about any return courtesy from me.

which is correct, if they want to drive right up close to everyone etc. at a happy laps event, then perhaps they shouldnt be in happy laps and should look into doing something more serious, and let people that are there in their roads cars have a little bit of fun, which is what happy laps is for afaik.

                          Awesome. Great feedback.

Jed, yup, if we can create a large enough group of enthusiasts, a dedicated track day just for us will be a possibility. And if not, at least we can have a few drivers "represent" at organised sprints.

Sean, you still gotta hit the twisties on a public road, because it's apples and oranges

Tobes, less serious is all good. Investing in ceramic pads means you won't go through brake linings and an extra set of wheels with tyres just for the track means you won't chew through your street rubber. Just a suggestion. Or, take it easy, like you said. Even in sprints, tailgating is a no-no. I won't tolerate anyone sitting on someone else's ass. You can sit on your own ass, if you like. It's like a decal on a 4x4 I recently saw: "Get the balls to pass or get off my ass!"

Sass, I thought you were a serious party-er! I guess word on the street was wrong.

With dsuhiti's definitely in, that makes 12 interested drivers. So far, so good...

I'm keen, on this type of ' non happy- happy laps' event, and the track is closer to home. Count me in. Beatrice.
