With all the talk of GPS logging, I had an email come through this morning with a new Autosport Labs product. Always loved their stuff --

If you've got an iPhone, the setup that Machine (ben) will have is going to give you the most data for your money. Harry's lap timer, external GPS and obd data port. I'll be very interested to see the data through obd as I've only seen it once and had a big delay, through iPhone 5 it may be much better. This and high def video, awesome. Though will work the phone very hard.Originally posted by spraycanmansam View PostWith all the talk of GPS logging, I had an email come through this morning with a new Autosport Labs product. I'll be running gtech and CMS lap timer on the phone for curiousity, though some comparison Ben and I did last weekend showed Harry's much more accurate to gtech than CMS. CMS only cost me 99c though, uses the phone for video and has GPS overlay. I don't care so much for its accuracy as I have gtech for that.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII

I have the TomTom iPhone holder which boosts the GPS signal. I'm going to give it and Harry's a try at the next happy laps. A lot have been getting decent results
I need to get a WiFi OBD reader...

Sweet, that's all you need. I think that gives 5hz, which is certainly sufficient for tracks and the phone can handle that amount of data. Ive read less favourable reviews for 10hz through phones. Wifi obd would be an optional nice to have, though would gauge Ben's before committing. It does give other benefits beyond track day goodness too.Originally posted by spraycanmansam View PostI have the TomTom iPhone holder which boosts the GPS signal. Be wary of wifi OBD readers as they suck battery life.Click or tap --> MY13 CW Golf R | Manual | ACC (deleted) | 19" Black Talladegas (sold) | Satnav-Dynaudio

Definately agree here. The old man has a bluetooth OBD II reader and although it updates very quickly to the phone (almost seamlessly), my phone (Xperia S) had used about 45% of battery over about 30 minutes.Originally posted by Machine View PostBe wary of wifi OBD readers as they suck battery life.sigpic TRADED THE BEE'12 Sport Yellow/Black Citroen DS3 DSport THP155 6-spd manual w/ tech pack.
