What tyre pressures are a good place to start? I run 40 psi front and 38 rear on the street..

Take 4 psi off your tyre's rated max inflation pressure up front and 6 psi off the rear.

That's stone cold pressure obviously. If you find the tyres too hard tomorrow, drop by 1 psi each track day til you're happy. Just don't go under your car's recommended tyre pressure (duh), usually found in the fuel door.

I used to run my at least 42(f) and 40(r), but have since dropped 2psi so running the same pressure as you are currently. For daily I usually run around 36psi. It is quite dependent on your tyres and the strength/flex of the sidewall so having a little play is worth it. Likeside doesn't heat the tyres as much as QR, so tyre pressure isn't as sensitive. The issue with starting high, is that you'll feel them squirm as they get hotter, but in saying that the car is more pregressive when it starts to slide.

Ryan - I've had two assignments due this week, one to submit tonight. Great way to start holidays hey.

Machine - don't forget to drain your engine oil, the added weight will slow you down
