Mate they were pretty short about it, I tried to raise it at the Presentation but, was given the "judges decision is final" line and strongly urged to follow the scripted proceedings!!

Guys, who ended up with the MK3 Trophy?

At the awards presentation, I was called up and the trophy awarded to my car was the MK3 trophy which kind of threw me since my car is a MK4!!

The club didn't seem to want to go into it, I got told "it was the Judges decision and that's how it is" (WTF? ) and I never got a real explanation as to how my car received enough Judge Kudos to win the wrong category. After the presentation I handed the trophy back to the club, there was no way I could accept it, I figured there was a MK3 owner, possibly one that had travelled long distance that should be taking that thing home.

Anyway, I hope it went to the correct car/owner, but I don't know who that was.

I thought a mk4 got the mk3 trophy! Maybe the mk4's were just that good they had to give them two? So mk3s went unawarded.. Guess we better pick up our game. Good work on handing it in and not accepting it, hopefully they'll get it right next year.

yeah that mk3/mk4 mess up was just embarrassing...wouldn't have happened with air cooled that's for sure. I'm surprised there wasn't just a 'best watercooled' and then dedicate the rest of the show to air cooled :/

Yeah man, I personally don't have much passion for aircooled *yet* but that's because I haven't owned a car older than 2000! But if you're organising a Volkswagen show, you'd think you'd actually know the models of ALL the cars. I can't wait for the day when I have enough mechanical knowledge to own and run one though.

Sorry that had to happen to you Snowy!
Was a bit of a stuff up in the mk3, another watercooled class, and one of the air cooled classes.
As simple as an error in reading/writing down a number, or in translating entry numbers into entrances names/cars.

Basically the numbers off the judges forms somehow ended up as the wrong numbers, names and cars on the winners list.

Hopefully no one is too upset by the results. The show is all about the cars, meeting people, and having a good time. Not about trophies.


Anyway...
I'll get some videos, photos, and notes from my weekend up in the next day or too. Had a great time, wish I had more time to check out cars and talk to people on sunday. I was busy at the show itself and then coped a bit of sun stroke in the arvo, so sorry if i seemed rude!

One of the best weekends I've had in a long time! Honestly everytime I spend time with you lads, I contemplate quitting my job, throwing my future out the window and moving to melbourne.

Cheers for coming up, the mk3 lineup was off tap this year! Thanks Toddzy and Tony for the cigars, felt like a true Sir!! Cheers to all the boys for letting me crash saturday night. Cheers to Stu for showing me his willy and cheers to Josh for all the beers.
