Forgot to mention about the nice pan shoot HAwk .. excellent work !!
Dinner was great the dessert was better

The security guard at rhodes wanted to tell us off too, he just didn't know what to say... "everything alright??? ......................long awkard pause ........." than he walked off. LOOOOOOSER.

Hopefully our 1 and only illegal shot turns out ncie, that is.. with our cars on an angle lol, can't believe those guard told us off.

I was wondering what he was on about since I didn't hear what he actually said. Just sort of walked up, mumbled something, then kept walking.

Thanks for all the kind words, Some nice shots amoungs the darker rubbish. Some can be cleaned up like this:

        Others have no hope

Next time it will be better. Next time.

Good to see you guys once again to all the regulars, had heaps of fun myself

Ray tried some aqua-planing himself in his passat almost worked Rhodes car park was good, some good lighting and also some great cars! Dinner was awesome I'm still full and can still taste the Jelly lol. Damm Louis you can eat dude haha!!! The few that were left around went back to Homebush to take some more shots I think there are some money shots, if those stupid security guards didn't come we would have had some really awesome photos I think damm stupid Suzuki Jimny's (they seriously sprung out of know where, and then saying as if he was a cop and above the law "you have to park properly, you need to face the right way, as per the road rules", right-o tosspot!!!)

I'd be interested if we could get some shots on a regular occasion going even some for the revamp of the forum, good to see everyone once again

for the best effect at night it to try and have a long exposure and no flash.
some times "night" mode on a compact cam will be this
its amazing how much light you will get even tho it is dark!

The photos were taken with a DSLR which has a "no flash" mode which I don't use unless I have a tripod. The better photo's were taken with a borrow tripod on the night using that no-flash mode which as you say uses a lower shutter speed and a wider aperture.

Sadly lots of the pictures looked OK on the little screen after being taken, it wasn't until I got them home and looked at them in all their glory they looked so dark.

Like I said, next time I will be more prepared with the tripod.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

They probably sprang out of nowhere because the whole Olympic Park area is monitored by CCTV, I have no doubt they would have seen us standing like drowned rats in the car park early on! Even the walking tracks in the parklands are equipped with detection devices to pick up any cars that may somehow find their way past the bollards at night.

It was great to finally catch up and say hi to you guys and put faces to the names. Sorry I couldn't hang around but I had a family commitment, hopefully I'll be able to catch up another time.

                  Cheers

                    yeah tripods are a must!!!

either that or its a pain trying to find somewhere to mount your cam.
its a big learning curve when you start with DSLR's, we was in torquay on saturday and my mates pic of the sunset is better on his compact than mine off my D40 (tho we was abit drunk at the time lol)

Hey guys sorry I couldnt make it. My mates Vr6 i was gonna bring had run outa rego so I thought i know ill bring the beast (Jag XJS 6L V12) but of course after i dropped my gf off, the central locking remote decided not to work and i couldnt get into my car because if i use the key to get in a) You get a headache and go deaf from the 130dB alarm inside the car and then the car wont start anyways so by the time i got all that sorted out I was a bit late haha.

So ill def try again for next time to come meet u guys.

                                Cheers
